Do you sterilize bottles or just wash them like other dishes?
Currently we sterilize everything (bottles, pump parts, pacifiers). Our sterilizer is not that big and it is somewhat burdensome. I don't know if it would good enough to run the bottles through the dishwasher.
Do you sterilize bottles? If so, when did you stop sterilizing? When DC starts eating solids?

we don't sterilize much. Daily, I rinse his bottles, bowls & spoons out with steaming hot water & dish soap. Once a week everything goes through the dishwasher. We only run our dishwasher 1-2 times per week.

I either washed them by hand or threw them in the dishwasher with everything else. I would only boil them in hot water the first use.

we sterilied his nipples only for hte bottle every day (he didnt use pacifiers)
We just used a pot of boiling water. We did this for about 9 months.

Yes, sterilizing does take a lot of time. That is why I am asking! I think I will just sterilize the nipples and pump membranes once or twice a week.

i washed everything by hand initially-- now i put in the dishwasher. i sterilize everything 2 to 3 times a week.

I sterilized my pump parts (not BF anymore), nipples, straw etc. of the Dr. Brown's bottles the rest the actual bottle I hand wash

I asked my pediatrician if it was necessary to sterilize bottles and he said that it is not necessary - just washing them with soap and water is just fine. That being said, I still run them through the dishwasher whenever i run it (1-2x per week) just to give myself a break from washing bottles.

I don't have a dishwasher in the house DH and I are renting so I wash the bottles and then I use my bottle sterilizer.

I boil our bottles & pump parts nightly. We only use 1-2 bottles a day though b/c I mostly BF. For me, it's more of an OCD type of thing---I know it's not necessary.

We sterilized before we used them for the first time and then washed them in the dishwasher after each use.

Dishwasher.
As soon as the bottles are exposed to the air, they are no longer sterile, so why spend all that time and effort for something that doesn't actually accomplish what you think it's doing? The dishwasher gets things just as sanitary, but with much less work. I'm for anything that makes LESS work...
