Anyone find the hurricane

is killing their diet?

I can acknowledge that this is no tragedy in the scope of what's happened, but all this down time is killing my eating habits. I'm bored and snacking. I'm bored and drinking, and you know how wine can kill weight loss, I'm sure. I've been out of work for almost a week. I've tried to kick the workout up a notch, but still.

I'm anxious to get back to routine before I lose ground.

Re: Anyone find the hurricane

Totally!! I was doing so great right before the storm....and then we lost power and I lost my motivation. And then the tree in our backyard started swaying back and forth and I couldn't take the stress...so I started eating everything in sight.
Now I've decided that until we get power back, I'm not dieting. If I can only enjoy one thing....it's going to be candy!

Re: Anyone find the hurricane

Definitely. I've been trying to still get some exercise in - on Sunday right before the storm I did a 6 mile run, on Tuesday I did some strength work at home, yesterday I went to the gym and today I'm doing an at home workout again. Planning to run tomorrow. I'm definitely eating absolutely terribly though.

I'm upstate and we weren't even severely affected, but I've been glued to the news and FB and sympathy eating ever since Monday.

Yes, I had 2 drinks every night the last week I think!

But, I did try to do some excercise while stuck at home.

And, after seeing some of the stories of victims I actually lost my appetite, felt guilty being glutonous!

Anyone find the hurricane

I'm trying not to be angry and upset about not exercising and eating things I normally never eat. I keep telling myself that there are more important things going on right now and soon things will be back normal.
It's not like I was eating cakes and cookies and fast food.
I did have some Halloween candy but it's not like it was a five pound bag.
I haven't exercised since the Monday Sandy hit. My bootcamp reopened the next Wednesday. But with the gas situation I thought it would selfish and not a priority to go.
We got power back last Friday and I am back to my normal way of eating. I will go back to bootcamp as soon as the gas situation is better.
I know my body will not change dramatically in two weeks.
Mentally it's hard. But it will be fine.

Re: Anyone find the hurricane

Ive been sitting around watching the tv non stop watching coverage of the storm. Plus eating the Halloween candy isn't helping. Im sure I gained at least a pound this week.

With our power being out so ling its the opposite for me. There's not much to eat BC we had to throw it out. And an unexpected week off let me get some good runs in.

Re: Anyone find the hurricane

Add me to this club. We went carb crazy and I got sick too. So I ate broccoli and cheese soup from Panera pretty much daily.

I'm weighing myself tomorrow and now that I feel better, I'll be back to the normal exercise schedule this week. Chat Icon

Re: Anyone find the hurricane

Hurricane was bad for me not only because I ate differently than I usually do, I also didn't work out as much. I am really still just getting back into my routine.

Re: Anyone find the hurricane

This hurricane was sooo bad for me. I didn't go to the gym once in the passed 2 weeks and I gained almost 5 lbs. Soooo bad.....

I did get to the gym today for the first time in forever. It felt good! I hope to kick off the diet with returning to work tomorrow (and the gym!).

Re: Anyone find the hurricane

Hurricane Sandy totally sidetracked my diet and workouts. I was w/o power for 8 days...my gym was closed most of those days too.

I didn't really gain that much weight...maybe a pound or two, but just by now working out for these past two weeks...I feel so flabby and gross. It's amazing how fast I've gone down hill!
