I see the post Chat Icon I don't know anything about those easels, but I have been looking at one for DD.

I love the Melissa & Doug one, but it doesn't have a magnet board. I found an Alex toys one on Amazon with a magnet board so I'm probably going to go with that one.

Do either of the ones you are looking at have the magnet board?

i think they might both have it

here is the step 2 one i got

here is the crayola one

they both have double sided clips so paper can be put on each side.

i just dont know if one is better quality then the other. or one is easier to use etc.

ETA: glad you were able to see the post. i really dont know why sometmes i see a post and then it disappears unless i search for it on this site its very strange Chat Icon

I got one from Michael's called creatology Easel. It has a spindle up top to hold paper and so I got a roll of paper too..

AJ is 4 though and I feel this will hold up. Plus I know we won't really have it out all the time (i hope).

I got it for $25 plus 30% off so around $17 which was (for me) too good to pass up on thanksgiving day.

I have wanted one but hate the idea of it wasting away so this is price point for this was perfect for me LOL. Destroy it, I dont care. Just enjoy it. Chat Icon

thanks for the suggestion!

my hope is that it will last for a couple of year so if we have another DC they could use it also.

I got both for $30 and under so i feel they were not too pricey.

I went with this one because I didn't want chalk or its dust inside the house with my allergies.

Chat Icon Chat Icon i bought this one too (i have issues and can never make a decisionChat Icon ) they had good sales on black friday and cyber monday

The only reason i am leaning toward returning this one is because im afraid that it eventually wont erase the magna doodle (like most of the magna doodle products do at some point due to use)

OK - have to tell you...I had the Step 2 and just ended up throwing it out! It didn't hold the paper fully (if the child was fingerpainting, etc) and the plastic tray was annoying.
I ended up buying the IKEA one and it's fantastic!! I used those chip clips on the top to hold the paper and it works great! It's super cheap and it folds flat.

We have the Crayola one and my biggest complaint is that nothing holds the paper on if you want to put some paper.

Re: Easels: Step 2 vs Crayola 3 in 1

I misread the question but I had already started posting so here goes, lol:

We have a Melissa and Doug Easel. LOVE IT!!! Simple, easy to put together. Has a dry erase board on one side, chalk on the other. The paper roll is threaded through the middle. Has clips that really hold the paper well. The trays are great. Help keep things somewhat tidy. We have some M&D accessories like the paint cups, chunky brushes, etc. Love that it has a classic look, not a million different colors. Adjustable height. DS is 3 and loves it.

hmm the one i got says it has clips to hold the paper doe is just not work or your doent have anything:

•Each board includes a clip to hold paper

Mine has that but it doesn't work well at all. Can you include a pic of the one you got?I am pretty sure it's the same one.
