Who is your carrier? My ins is getting out of hand. I have a paid off car that just has basic and a lease. Geico keeps raising my premium every 6 months and its just dh and I. We have no accidents or tickets and the premium is getting out of hand I'm over $210 month now. Who do have/recommend?

Re: Car insurance
Wow that seems high. I have 1 paid off car and a lease, both with full coverage and I pay a little less than that. I have USAA which won't help you unless you are military or grandfathered in. They've never raised my rates, even after I hit a parked car last year. I can't say enough good things about them.
ETA: I just checked my bill and did a little comparison.. I pay $196/mo for both cars. My policy just renewed in November. Previously I was paying $203/mo. I didn't change any coverage so my premium actually went down.

Car insurance
I have insurance through Travelers that I obtained through a broker. They have access to companies that do not quote direct to the public (but as just as good as any other company) FM me if your like his info, he's never done wrong by me!! Automatically shops my policy at renewals to insure I am getting the best rate available.

Glad I'm not the only one. I just got my renewal and was sooooo pissed. May go to a broker again but going to call around for quotes.

USAA is awesome. Still more expensive than my Amica policy but really you hear NOTHING but good things about USAA.
They are centered here in San Antonio and nearly the whole town qualifies for them but not as many as you think actually buy in.
I qualify because my father is ex-Navy.
I pay about the same here as I did there in NY. Around $170 a month for two cars both paid off, both fully covered. I do get a dividend check each year (I think USAA still does that) so I get paid to have insurance. I will say though.. $170 is an increase for me this year.
I strongly believe in YEARLY insurance as opposed to 6m cycles. You can't raise my rates for a full year! I pay it all in 10m so for 2m I get no bill (auto withdrawal) at all. Plus I loved that I needed NO DEPOSIT when I started.
I shop my insurance every 3yrs or so. I have been with Amica now nearly 12yrs!

Yeah well mine took a huge jump BEFORE Sandy! (august) they said rates in general are going up, period. I was so angry!! I hung up on the lady and called around to get pricing. Then had to admit it was still cheaper. ticked me off tho. I have no accidents, no tickets (at that time haha). a decade of loyality outta MEAN something!

Re: Car insurance
Just switched from Geico to USAA. Rates were pretty much equal, but in the end, USAA saved us a few dollars so we went with them.

We have Allstate, I pay around $250 a month for two cars to be insured. I have had Allstate since I got my license and have never had an issue with them.

Ok.. confession...
I read the word "Allstate" and heard the baritone actor's voice in my head, like you do in the commercials.

Re: Car insurance
USAA, awesome if you qualify. I spend less for 2 cars (full everything) with them then what I was quoted from Liberty Mutual for 1 car!! Wish I could dump LM for my home owner's but USAA doesn't do "my area", too close to the shore.

Re: Car insurance
Geico was actually the cheapest for us.
2 cars - 2011 & 2013, full coverage for $140/month.
I also have my homeowners with them, so I think I get a discount for that.

Re: Car insurance
I have auto coverage through The Hartford. They’re very reasonable and their rates are locked in for an entire year as opposed to 6 months as most other companies. Take a look.
