Kate Middleton Leaves the Hospital After 4-Day Stay

With a smile and the briefest of comments that she is feeling "much better," a fragile-looking Duchess of Cambridge left the hospital Thursday morning.
An expectant Kate walked out of King Edward VII hospital with husband William at around 10:45 a.m.
Just before she stepped into her waiting car, Kate – in a navy checked overcoat and light blue scarf and clutching a bouquet of yellow roses – softly answered questions from the ranks of media crews about how she was doing.
She and William then headed to their cottage home in the grounds of Kensington Palace where she will continue to rest.
Kate, 30, had spent three nights and nearly four days at the clinic after suffering severe morning sickness in what is said by the palace to be the "very early stages" of her pregnancy.
In a short statement released by their spokesman as she left, the couple thanked the hospital for her care. "The Duchess of Cambridge has been discharged from the King Edward VII Hospital and will now head to Kensington Palace for a period of rest," the statement read. "Their Royal Highnesses would like to thank the staff at the hospital for the care and treatment The Duchess has received."
William has been at the hospital every day throughout his wife's stay. On Wednesday, she had a visit from her sister Pippa, 29, brother James, 25, and mother Carole.
Earlier this week, as news broke that she was in hospital, a close friend told PEOPLE: "She's in the right place, in the right hands.
"God bless her," the friend said. "She is such a lovely person, and I hope everything is absolutely fine for her."

Took the words right out of my mouth.  That's probably why she stayed for FOUR days. I mean, a little overkill for morning sickness, no? Even if she did faint.

She had Hyperemesis gravidarum, which is really severe apparently. More than just the normal MS, plus, she's carrying the heir to the throne, so I am sure they're not taking any chances.

Awww- she looks so pretty!
And yes, can you imagine looking THAT good after leaving the hospital and being that sick?
When I left the hospital after my ambulatory surgery I looked like they were wheeling out death!

There is an expectation of her to always look pulled together. Think about Princess Diana and all the other royals who looked put together after having babies. I think she looks good here but the above statement says she was clutching a bouquet of flowers and looked frail. I don't see it. She looks like she is dressed, has a simple hairstyle, and minimal makeup to look good. I think it's a great example of how had she looked more "normal" they would have had a hay day. As for 4 days...eh Hyperemesis is pretty bad and if she couldn't keep food down she wouldn't be allowed to leave. Plus like another pp said she is carrying the heir to the British Throne in her uterus. I would imagine her baby will be more looked at then Suri was lol.

Oh she looks better, thank Goodness - it's good that she's going to be resting up, that's her first priority, taking care of their baby  So thrilled for them!!!

Seriously if she isn't up to it I am sure they can hire someone to blow her hair and do her make up lol

Right, I think that this has been handled so so badly, this poor girl is two months pregnant. She should not have had to nnounce this so early. She is a member of thr richest family and their PR people could have handled this so much better. She could have been treated at home or they could have said she sprained her ankle or something. I feel bad for her.

I mentioned it on the other thread. I know 2 women who went through and is definitely NOT standard morning sickness. It can be life threatening to mom/ baby if not treated properly. I am glad to see she is feeling better. I hope they got the symptoms under control.

She looks like she had a hair and makeup team helping her leave the hospital. I honestly feel bad. Could you imagine leaving the hospital.. feeling like garbage and having to put on stockings, boots, hair and makeup???
HELL no. When I was sick and in the hospital I cam out looking like a homeless person.

She looks AMAZING.
I know when I had MS you couldn't find me looking like that even if someone paid me to leave the house and get a blow out...but seriously when does she EVER look bad?!
I hope she feels better though, sounds serious!

I have a friend who suffered through this during her second pregnancy. She spent almost the entire first trimester in the hospital or in bed hooked to an IV. This is not just bad morning sickness.
