DIY kitchen renovation
Has anyone done a Reno on your own?
Where did you shop for cabinets and counter tops?
We are keeping the same foot print, just need new cabinets , appliances, and sink
Thank you!

Re: DIY kitchen renovation
Our cabinets are from Ikea and DH built and installed them himself. He had a granite company do the countertops.

Re: DIY kitchen renovation
We went to home depot. You can make an appointment and bring in the measurements of your kitchen. They will sit with you and will go over all you options etc. We had a great experience with them.

I took my kitchen down to the studs and redid the layout. I got my cabinets from consumers. I priced them also at Home Depot. HD was almost double the price for the exact same layout an cabinets. And consumers threw in a few extras.

We did ours on our own. We kept our cabinets but repainted and added trim. We got our countertops and floor at Home Depot and was very happy w them.

Re: DIY kitchen renovation
We did, all of the items you listed we bought at Ikea. We spent under $3000!!!! Cabinets are now 6 years old and still in amazing condition! They have a lifetime warranty I believe, as well!
Oh and SO easy to install on your own!

Re: DIY kitchen renovation
We've done two kitchens ourselves. Both times cabinets were from HD. If you are not changing anything it's pretty easy.
We contracted out plumbing (moved the gas stove and sink), electricity and granite countertops.

Cabinets we bought from Kabinent king and home surplus. We purchased the granite from stone edge.

My uncle does custom cabinets and he did ours, he does really good work and is in Islip, Avalon Woodworking. His installed pricing is about the same as Home depot's installed price on the middle/upper grade stuff.
we got the counters from a place in westbury Elegante Granite, they were great and almost, but not quite the cheapest quote.

Re: DIY kitchen renovation
We did ours. Cabinets were from Ikea. We did large granite tiles for the counters. The whole thing - including appliances was under 15k. It was a total gut job.
