3 Day Potty Training - Experiences?
If you used it, was it successful for you?
How old was your DC?
Is your DC or ?
Any suggestions? My whole house is carpeted, so I am not so into a ton of accidents!

Wow - are you doing this already? We can barely get DD to say 'yes' when we ask if she has poop in her pants!

Lol. We have had some success on the potty, but I am thinking I am going to wait about a month and do this 3 day method - thinking she will be ready then.

Re: 3 Day Potty Training - Experiences?
We did this with ds and it was a complete success. He was 2 yr 8 mo. And adamant against using potty (he would scream like a mad man if we even suggested trying). Day 1 was awful he just had accidents all day but would at least sort of sit on potty at the end of day. Then night time came and put him to bed in underwear ( I know big risk but I figured we should just go for it all the way no diapers as to not confuse ) he woke up dry the next day and that was that. I mean some accidents here and there but he has only worn underwear since and it's been 4 months and he goes to daycare/school. I recommend it!

From what I have read, the gist of it is throw away the diapers, put them in underwear, give them lots to drink, then keep reminding them to let you know when they need to go. Reward them and praise them when they go. Praise them when they keep their underwear dry. In 3 days they are supposed to be totally trained (day and night) and out of diapers.

I used it twice with my dd#1 almost 21/2yrs ago and just this past week with my dd#2 ....both girls were 2 1/2yrs old when I started it.....just get some resolver carpet cleaner and but honestly if you're not ready for lots of accidents it might not be the potty training method for u since the object is to get rid of diapers and no pull ups and to get your child to drink a lot to be able to witness lots of accidents and catch them in the act every time so they get to learn so in other words more accidents=faster learning good luck if u have anymore questions I love the method and it worked great for both my girls three days for pee and five for poo and no accidents at all during the day by the fifth day for both of them! Eta nighttime training took longer about three wks for my dd#1 and my dd#2 is only going on a wk so I was already prepared that the night was gonna take longer for her

Re: 3 Day Potty Training - Experiences?
My DD was 3y3m when she potty trained and I think because I waited so long, it was a breeze.
I got tired of diapers and I knew she was ready, she was just being lazy. So one day I took away her diapers cold turkey, stuck her in panties, and made her use the potty. We stayed home for 3 days and the first day she had maybe 3 pee accidents and a poop accident and was so grossed out that by the end of the day she was trying really hard to get to the potty in time. The second day she had maybe 1-2 pee accidents only and no poop accidents, and by day 3, NO accidents at all. By day 5 I took her out and about in undies and never looked back...........she has been trained for a year now and never has had an accident.
Even though she was dry 95% of the time at night I did keep her in overnights for a few extra months because I read in multiple places that being able to hold it all night is more a physical development they need to reach then just being able to train them. Eventually we just got rid of the overnights too and she was fine.
Good luck.
ETA - We have carpets too. Kept little potty in kitchen since we're always in the den, this way she didn't have to run too far. And I kept one of the waterproof pads on the couch when she was watching TV. Carpets and couch were fine, she usually had the accident as she was trying to get to the potty because she held it too long.

Re: 3 Day Potty Training - Experiences?
we are potty training DS now. He is 28 months. We are on day 4 of underwear. I am not following the 3 day potty training strickly, in that I still put him in diapers at night, but since he has woken up dry 2 nights, I am thinking of putting him in underwear overnight tonight.
The first day we had a bunch of pee accidents. Made him take off his wet underwear. And by the second day he got it. He did not want the underwear wet. He did say he wanted to wear the diaper because he did not want his underwear dirty but we assured him that he wasnt going to dirty it. I realized that he was peeing every 15-30 minutes. Over the past few days though, i think he is getting control over his bladder bec he does not pee as frequently anymore.
Second day, we had one pee accident and a small poop accident. But he started telling me he had to go peepee.
Third day, no accidents at all. said he had to go peepee a bunch of times, but I reminded him at well.
Fourth day. He told me he had to go peepee as he started to poop, so he started poop in the underwear but finished in the toilet.
He still fights it when I tell him he is going to the toilet because he wants to play but so far it seems to be going well!
I dont think he gets the distinction of the sensation for poop and pee yet, which they say is common for boys.
I think DS was ready at 23 months because he was peeing and pooping in the toilet and telling me. But, i was not on top of it and very quickly he wanted NOTHING to do with the toilet. I decided to try now because he outgrew the size 6 diapers and I am having a hard time finding size 7.
