Not eating all of my WW points

Is this bad? I have a ton of points...WELL over 50. I had a really big dinner tonight, and I still didn't reach my points for the day. I usually fall about 10 short of the target.

I feel like the good snacks are all 0 and 1 point, so I need to eat a ton of them...the bad snacks...yeah they would get me to the point level, but I feel like I shouldn't be inhaling candy just for the sake of getting to the point level Chat Icon

Do you mean you are not meeting your daily target, or do you mean you are not using all of your 49 weekly points?

If it's the daily points, I would definitely view them as the required minimum points and eat all of them. If you don't want to use the weeklies, or at least not all of them, I think that's fine, since they are discretionary.

Can you add some "healthy" things here and there in that are higher in points? Maybe snack on peanut butter and whole grain bread or crackers, add an extra teaspoon of healthy oil here or there to salad or veggies or soups, add avocado or cheese to salads, sandwiches, etc., get more dairy in with the extra points (have a low fat latte or use skim milk to make a hot cocoa after dinner), snack on almonds or nuts (or add them to cereal, salads). Maybe even enjoy an indulgence, like a glass of wine with dinner, which sounds REALLY good to me. Or a piece of dark chocolate after dinner.

Personally, I wish I had this problem because I feel like my points are going so fast this first week! And I can obviously think of a zillion different ways to use more points, lol. I've been a little hungry, just getting used to cutting back. I am totally jealous! Chat Icon

I'm not meeting my daily target. Those are all really good ideas-thank you Christine! Chat Icon I think I'll make a hot chocolate now and work on incorporating more of those suggestions starting tomorrow.

You're welcome, Jen!

Also, if you are not feeling too full at meals, maybe you can increase your portion sizes a bit (like eat 5 oz of chicken instead of 3 oz, or have 1 c. of cereal instead of 3/4 c., etc.). Then, you can just scale them back a bit as you lose lbs and your points decrease.

Have a great day tom orrow! (It's my last day before early Sat. am WI, so hoping I have a good day, too.)

If you find you are not losing then the not eating all the points might be the issue. If you are only 1 or 2 points short I would say its probably not an issue but 10 short is not good. Add in a snack or up the portion size a bit but not too much because when you drop point along the way you dont want to be "programed" to the bigger portion sizes.

i dont have any advice, but this is why i couldnt stick with the new WW points plus. if you figure out a way to do it and still feel like you are eating healthy and not just eating to fill a points quota, let me know!
