Graduated from RE but worried about progesterone

Hi Ladies,
I was released from the RE yesterday to move on to my regular OB. I am 8 weeks, 3 days. I am happy, but concerned as my progesterone levels have been getting lower since my first beta. First beta was above 40, second beta above 40. At first sono was around 40, second around 35, third 22, and fourth (yesterday) 16! My sono's have been great, baby measuring perfect and heartrate at 167. I know progesterone levels can go up and down, but the big fluctuation worries me. Any of you out there experience this?

A little history, I have BTDT down the infertilty road and then some. I have a history of recurrent loss. Had two miscarriages, then conceived and had my beautiful DS, who is now two (used RE, did IUI with clomid). I had 3 more losses in the last year, and am now PG again (IUI with clomid). My losses have been mostly prior to 8 weeks, some what would be deemed chemical pregnancies, but two of them had good strong heartbeats. I have had the recurrent loss panel twice, which yielded no issues. Completely unexplained. The one loss I had in which I had a D&C showed no chromosomal issues with the baby. I have always suspected my problems were hormone/progesterone related, but no definitive answer there either. Frustrating. And I am 40, which I know factors in there.

I have my first OB appointment next week, but am thinking I may go back to the RE for them to repeat my progesterone, just to see if it drops more. They do not seem concerned at all, and I keep getting the "as long as it's 10 or above it's fine" line. But with my history and tendency for things to go downhill quickly I am not convinced. I spoke with the nurse and she said I can up my progesterone suppositories to 400mg (twice am, twice pm), as I am taking them 3 times per day. I have also been taking estrogen, but they want me to stop it now. Plan is also to stop suppositories at 10 weeks. Thanks for hanging in there with this long post. Looking forward to hearing from you guys again.

Those numbers sound totally fine. According to my IVF nurse the progesterone level is supposed to start dropping as you progress through your first trimester. PP is correct though it should not fall under 10.
I am 8w today and my progesterone level is 16 on 1ml of Progesterone in Oil and 2x progesterone suppositories a day.
Imagine what it would be like if I wasn't taking progesterone up the wazoooooooo!!!!

Re: Graduated from RE but worried about progesterone

Hi ladies, just wanted to thank you for your replies and give an update. I did end up going back to the RE last week to check my levels and have a nice chat with one of the docs. He was great, answered all my questions, and offered me options of switching meds if needed. My progesterone went back up to 21, which helped me relax a little. I did end up upping the dose, so I don't know how much is due to the increased meds, but I'm going to (try) to stop obsessing, since they won't be checking anymore anyway. I think part of my worry was being released from the RE, it's so hard to let go of them. Had first OB appointment today and still looking good. Back in two weeks for the nuchial scan. I think I can wait that long without going crazy!
