Re: Babymoon
We went to Austria & Prague when I was 22-23 weeks. It was perfect timing in my pregnancy to still get around easily / walk a lot.

Re: Babymoon
I just came back from Costa Rica that experience was horrible. During the flight my legs kept falling asleep and that has never happened to me I had to keep getting up every hour to stretch my legs not to mentioned i was in the bathroom also peeing. I didn't get motion sick thank god. The flight was 5 hours long. During the trip because CR was soo hot I would get soo tireddd definitely keep a bottle of water with you at all times that was what I dealt with but I was on my first trimester.
In a couple of weeks I am going to Ecuador and that's a 6 hour flight but I will be out of my first trimester and I'm sure I'll feel better but I think i'll still have the issues of my legs falling asleep. They say the best time to travel is during your 2nd trimester

We went to Paris! I was 20 weeks, it was perfect with all the walking and sightseeing. Only thing was the motion sickness on the airplane...but totally worth it! :)

Re: Babymoon
We're going to Disney at the end of the month with our DS. That is sort of a Babymoon, but I wanted to get away for 1-2 nights without my DS before I have the babies. We are most likely going to go out to Montauk for a long weekend at the beginning of June, just the two of us. Can't wait!

Re: Babymoon
I don't want to fly while pregnant, so DH and I decided to go to cape cod for a week. It will be cold and deserted, but we are going to bring the dog and just hang out. We wanted time just for the two of us to not feel like we need to look at our work phones or check work emails.
Not sure what we are going to do in a ghost town but we will figure it out. Any suggestions for things to do there in February let me know!!
We are also thinking about going to Baltimore or Ocean City at the end of May if I have any extra time I will lose at the end of the fiscal year (which is June)

Re: Babymoon
This makes me so sad. I booked 6 days in St. Martin in May for a babymoon and within a week, I cancelled it. I will be 7 mos and got really nervous about being out of the country and access to medical care on a small Caribbean island. DH and I are also going to Vegas for a weekend for a wedding so I was overwhelmed with the thought of flying out there and coming back for 3 days and them heading out to St. Martin.
I am trying to come up with an alternative that is not too far because we will have to do the trip later in my pregnancy. I would've loved to go somewhere in April but DH is going away for a couple of weekends for a wedding and bachelor party. Sigh.
Let me know if you have any suggestions. Thanks.

Re: Babymoon
In my first pregnancy I went on a cruise and it was fabbbbbulous. My only complaint was having to pee CONSTANTLY when I was on the islands. We went to one beach and as soon as we laid our things out I had to go to the bathroom.. I walked a long way to find one.. came back to where we were sitting... and had to go again. Then on the shuttle back to the boat I had to go SOOOO BAD I thought I might die. For anyone planning a babymoon just keep in mind you may be peeing like it's your job.

YES!! Having to go to the bathroom all the time was my only annoyance, and in Prague you have to pay to use the bathroom everywhere!!!

You should definitely go on one. We kept putting off booking one and now I'm sad we won't get to have alone time before the baby is born!!!

My dr doesn't want me flying. DH and I are going to Washington, D.C. In March. He's never been and were both history nerds. Totally excited to take him there!

Re: Babymoon
With my first, we took two - Boston and Newport, RI. I was about 20 weeks in Boston and I tired out more than usual but we walked all over and it was 100 degrees in late July. I also still had food aversions and the lobster roll DH had made me want to puke! Take it easy if you are going somewhere warm and drink lots of water!
Newport was 6 weeks later and I had more energy then. it was a good time for me at that point in my pregnancy. Very relaxing and I felt pretty good walking a lot.
Two, almost three kids, later my idea of a baby moon is a beach and/or pool with chair side food and drink service!

With my first baby we went to key Biscayne, just south of Miami. We stayed at the Ritz. It was not far and in US. I highly recommend!!!! The service was amazing and I had the most incredible prenatal massage there. With my second we went to Puerto Rico and stayed at the Ritz as well. It was nice, but I actually preferred Key Biscayne. I was 25-28 weeks each time. Absolutely GO!!!!
