Airedale REFUSES to come inside.

Ever since it snowed and the temperature dropped our Airedale refuses to come inside. He'll come as far as the door when we call him but won't actually step through it. If we reach out to get his collar he takes off like we're playing some sort of game. He's loving the cold and when he goes outside he'l roll in what little is left of the snow on the ground and runs laps around the yard and is throwing snow around and he seems fine but I'm a little concerned since it is so freakin cold out.

Our mini schnazuer prefers the cold as well but he'll actually come in when I call him. The Airdale is just in his glory being out there. He's a big dog with a thick coat (we let it get long in the winter) and is running and playing so at least the blood is pumping but I am still a little worried. Don't get me wrong we do go out and get him but then he just sits at the back door and CRIES and CRIES because he wants to go back out.

How long would you let your dog stay outside in this weather? Is there a general rule about how long it's ok for them to be outside. I'd like to let him run and play but not any longer than it is safe for him to be out there.

Omg our dog -a labradoodle, LOVES this weather!! We have a doggy door so she can come a go as she pleases. Last night she was just laying on the deck looking out into the woods, after about 30 minutes I made her come back in, but she did it again a while later!! My dad was just telling me his dog won't come in either, she was just laying in the snow, he is concerned because she is so old!

My dogs actually dont care for the cold although they do like the snow.

I would not want my dog out more than 15 mins...I would be worried about their toes freezing.
