Please tell me its just a phase - 3 year old
I'm at my wits end. DS is 3 and one day he woke up and said im gonna be defiant, cranky, and bossy! He has tantrums when he doesnt get his way, answers back, throws his toys when hes mad, and generally is just in a bad mood! He wont eat what I cook anymore, fights to go to bed, and now wants to dictate when bath time is. Please tell me they grow out of this!!!

Not sure but sounds just like my 2 year old DD. She has been acting like this for a while now.

I am right there with you! My 3 1/2 year old can be playing so nice, but one thing could set him off and he is throwing toys, chairs, cushions are coming off the couches, all hell breaks lose! He also has this "mad" voice that kinda scares me a little! I hope it's a phase too.

DS was in that phase until about 6yo. DD is 6.5 and still in that phase.
Most DC grow out of it WAYYYYY early than 6, though...... usually at or before they turn 4, give or take.

Re: Please tell me its just a phase - 3 year old
DS turned 3 in October and has become somewhat defiant. He doesn't throw tantrums but his answer to everything is "I'm not going." J it's dinnertime and he says "i'm not going" only to walk over 30 seconds later. If he's not listening and I say if you don't X I'll take away your hotwheels, he'll say "take the hotwheels." The defiance is killing me. Meals have become a little more challenging with "I don't like this" even though sometimes it's something he used to love. What is really irking me is that lately he"ll say "I'm a baby, I can't do it." and insist he can't do something. It's a power struggle
You are not alone.

DD will be 4 in March and sounds just like your DS! I think it's an age thing. As my mom says "It's not easy to transition from a baby to a big kid"...I guess they are just trying to find their footing and all we can do as parents is try to stay strong through it.
