How far would you travel for a classmate's b-day party?
Thinking of having DD's party at the aquarium in Riverhead. We live at exit 62 on the LIE. Is that unreasonable?

I think so. I prsonally would go bc I know my children would love it but I think many would think it was out of the way. Did you check out the pricing as well? Bc my friend did it there and they had to pay for the childrens parents as well. Needless to say she had a very small party.

I would go to Riverhead but I wouldn't be happy I live in Western Suffolk though.
From 62, it's not as far.

Riverhead from exit 62 is not far at all. I would have no problem going to a party that requires traveling a distance. It's about the kids, not me ;). I have went to birthday parties in Garden City before, and I live near exit 62.

Re: How far would you travel for a classmate's b-day party?
It depends on where you live and how close you are with the families of the classmates. For us that would be a good 50 min- an hour drive depending on traffic. If it were a family member or one of my children's best friends I would go - otherwise, for just another classmate it would be very hard to do - especially if only one of my children were invited - then I definitely wouldn't go. HTH!
Just saw you live at exit 62 - TOTALLY changes what I wrote - GO FOR IT! That place is amazing and I wish I lived closer!

I also live at exit 62. I had DD's b-day party at the aquarium in 2010. All but 1 invited guest RSVP'd with a yes - including friends from Hicksville & Lindenhurst.

That's not that far. When we had my DD's party there practically everyone RSVPed yes.
