NEW UPDATE - just got a 5th smiley- with chart - Ladies who chart and/or use opks...please help!
UPDATE: Just got a 5th smiley
I posted earlier this week that I was weirded out to get a positive opk on day 13 when my cycles are usually around 34 days long. I kept testing every day after that just to see what was going on, because I was really expecting a positive opk around day 18. Sure enough, I got another +opk on day 18. Kept testing and got ANOTHER +opk today, on CD 21. I always test at the same time in the afternoon after holding my pee for pretty much exactly 4 hours.
I've also been temping and my temps seemed to go up starting on CD 19. But there was a big dip on CD 14.
I know this is a ton of info, so here's a summary:
CD 13: + opk CD 14: temperature dip (for one day, then they went back to normal) CD 18: + opk CD 19: temperatures start to rise (and stay high through CD 21) CD 21: + opk
I'm going to try to include my chart in this post. Can anyone please help me? I'm so confused and I have no idea what's going on with my body. Plus I'm trying to follow Deanna's plan, but since I've been doing that for every +opk I am getting really BD'd out.
Sorry this is so long, I'd really really appreciate any help or advice.
ETA: they are digital opks, this is my first month using them, and I haven't been diagnosed with PCOS
Also, you can probably ignore the CM and CP data, since I pretty much had no idea what I was doing. Image Attachment(s):

Re: Ladies who chart and/or use opks...please help!
what opk's are you using? the digital smiley ones or non-digital? are you sure you're reading them correctly?
they say to stop testing after the first positive reading.
is this your first month using them? do you have pcos? there is a warning on them that if you have pcos, they are not accurate

Thanks for the reply.
I'm using the clear blue digitals, so I know it's not a matter of reading them wrong.
This is my first month using them. I only kept going because the first + just didn't seem right. And from what I'm reading, if you get multiples it can be because your body geared up to O but didn't the first time, so you should go by the last one.
I haven't been diagnosed with PCOS. Do you think based on this that I might have it? How would I know?
Thanks again!

I really don't have any answers for you (sorry!), but wanted to ask, is this also your first month temping? I only ask because if it's your first month, it may be good to compare next month's cycle in order to see a pattern. Hopefully, you won't have to have another cycle though!

Thanks. Yeah, it is my first month temping also. This makes me wish I had started all this stuff from the beginning of ttc so I would have a basis for comparison.

HI. I can't see your chart. Do you chart using Fertility Friend? If so did it pick an O day for you? I usually have a temp on my 2nd day of a positive OPK. Since your temp dipped around CD14 you may have o'd then. I have been tamping for a while and once you do it for a couple of months the software knows your patterns and predicts when you will O. My first couple months of charting were a mess. Now my charts are great and helpful. Keep at it.

is there any chance you have PCOS? it is not really normal to get that many +OPKs with that many days in between - it tends to be a sign of elevated LH which is a symptom of PCOS. you can have this issue and still ovulate. i would def go by temps to confirm ovulation and i would keep using OPKs until you see it go back to negative. def keep temping. it doesnt sound like you ovulated but i cant see the chart. even if you did its def not normal to keep getting +OPK for days after ovulation. when you get 3 days of temps that are substantially higher, that usually confirms ovulation (and its usually when FF will confirm it for you in the chart). i would def keep an eye out for irregular patterns like this. could be a fluke thing this month or could be a sign of PCOS. def continue to use OPKs and continue to temp. without bloodwork temping will be the only way to confirm ovulation, you can't trust OPKs if you are getting +s that often.

Thanks. I think I was able to add the chart now. It picked CD 14. But if I switch to one of the other detectors, it picks CD 15 (with the research detector), CD 22 (with the opk detector), or doesn't detect it at all (with the fertility awareness detector). I'd really like to get a BFP, but I'll keep temping if I don't.

I don't know. That's what I'm freaking out about. When I posted last week worried about the early +opk, I listed my previous cycle lengths after getting off BC:
29 32 36 33(chemical) 45 (cycle after chemical)
and people said that it didn't look like PCOS. But now with these positive opks I am so worried.
I had three days of high temps, but then today it dropped again! FF is saying O day 14 (with dotted lines though, so it's not sure), unless I change the detector type, which will get it to say CD 15, 22, or not detected. I think I was able to add my chart, so if you have any other insight I would be so so grateful.
Thank you!

I see it now. It's really hard to tell when you o'd. BUT your bding time is great for whenever you did O!!! Hopefully you get a BFP this month. If not, keep at charting, hopefully things will regulate. Good luck.

If you were getting a few days in a row I would say no big deal, but those are spaced out quite a bit.
I might suspect PCOS but there is no way to tell without more info and testing.
Have you tried taking a HPT?

I'm more inclined to trust the temping over the OPK's.

Yeah, my thoughts exactly. Haven't tried a HPT because it seems too early and I don't want to be disappointed. DH also wants to wait, but he said if I keep getting + opks in a row this time that we should test.

Yeah, agreed. Based on temps I was thinking I O'd on the 18th, but then I got this huge drop today, so I don't know wtf.

First try a HPT b/c OPKs could be + so often b/c you are actually pregnant.
If you are not pregnant, then just keep temping and stop analyzing. After you have about 3 months, you'll start to see patterns. If this continues to happen, it might be time to talk to a dr.

Re: ANOTHER UPDATE - just got a 4th smily- with chart - Ladies who chart and/or use opks...please help!
My 1st 4 cycles were like this after I had a very early MC. I used the CBFM in the am and OPK in the pm. I got my peak reading on the CBFM but continued to be random positives on the OPK. After about 4 cycles it regulated itself and went back to normal. I did end up asking my OB for testing and had Cycle day 3 testing which came back fine and an HSG which showed uterine polyps. I then had a D/C & polypectomy and now am 10 weeks pregnant!

Just got a 5th smiley. This time there are three in a row. I wish this could mean that I'm pregnant, but it' s too early for that, right?

Maybe but you won't know if you don't test.
If you aren't pregnant, I would just stop using OPKs this cycle (just to save $$ LOL), wait for AF, and focus on temping. Like Flowerwife said, if OPKs aren't accurate for you, it doesn't necessarily mean you're not ovulating, but the only way to tell if you are ovulating is through tracking your temp.

I don't want to get your hopes up... but that looks like a BFP chart to me... looks like implantation dip, then spike... I would test with HPT in two days...

I agree with a few of the other ladies. Take a HPT because usually this will mean pregnant. You definitely could've ovulated earlier than you/FF thought.
Good luck!
