My insurance consdiers this a specialist and I have a $50 co-pay which is insane to me...where else can I go?

You can go to your regular doctor, but if you have a specific eye issue, might be better off with an opthamologist.
There's only so much a GP can do.

It's considered a specialty in my insurance programs too.

Then you can go to an optometrist if you just want your vision checked.

this! it would probably be cheaper to go this route if you think you only need to get reading glasses.

What about going to Davis Vision, Pearl, Costco, Lense Crafters or a place like that? At least with the hundred bucks you spend you get an eye exam and glasses.
