Max Brenner's is pretty fun place to eat...it's based around everything chocolate. As far as fun places, Madam Tussauds Wax Museum or Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum could be fun for those ages.

Are they girls or boys?
If they are girls, I could see them liking some of the big shopping places, maybe getting cupcakes somewhere and going someplace for sushi or something like that.

Are they into Harry Potter? There's a Harry Potter exhibit at the Discovery Times Square center. Or maybe the 9-11 Memorial

I have taken kids that age. The shake shack is popular especially if any of them watch food network.
Ice skating @ bryant park or in central park. Top of the rock or the empire state building. Cupcakes at crumbs or sprinkles.
