Mommy's of 8 Month Old or BTDT Moms Enter

My DD will be 8 Months and I am just curious what other moms do with their 8 month old? What does your day look like? How much time do you spend actually playing with baby? Doing your own things around the house (clean, cook, watch some tv or read a magazine)
I just want to make sure I am spending enough time with my DD helping her development. Reading to her or playing with her and so on.

My DD is wonderfully independent, she goes in her pack and play or her jumperoo and keeps herself entertained for long periods of time which is FANTASTIC! LOL BUT I also want to make sure Im doing enough to help her learn.

Thanks to any suggestions/advice you may have.
I only work part time so I have alot of time to devote to my DD. If that info is needed.

I do a little of everything. I think it's important for them to be able to play independently so I leave them be for a period of time, then I'll lay on the floor and read to him, show him toys, etc for a little. Between independent play, a little time along, eating, nursing, and sleeping, the day fills up!

I probably spend too much time playing with DD and not enough on housework! We have a little play area set up in our living room so she spends a lot of time playing there with her music table, books, LNL home, and other smaller toys. I sit on the floor and play but often watch tv or go on my laptop at the same time so I still get me time.

I try to do house work while she's napping but I get little things done throughout the day. DD will sit on my bed with a few toys while I fold laundry. I sometimes let her creep around the kitchen floor while I clean up. I'll put her in the jumperoo to clean the floors and do more intensive cleaning.

Once she turned 8 months and started with cheerios and other snacks I've been able to give her a handful after she has her meal so I can wash dishes, start dinner, or get the kitchen cleaned while she munches. That has been great!

I spend a lot of time with her bc she doesn't pull up or crawl yet. So if I just sit her on the floor she be there all day! She cruises but I have to stand her up and if she does fall down, she can't get back up. She still doesn't love tummy time so I usually have to entertain her while she's on her belly.

I'm sure what you're doing is plenty! I used to wonder if I talked to DD enough and one day she just started talking back. Her babbling suddenly sounds like she's having a real conversation and she repeats lots of sounds and a few words. I think it's normal to question if you're doing enough but these kids are so darned cute it's hard not to give them lots of attention!
