Swimming Lessons
What places offer swimming lessons besides Saf T Swim and the YMCA? The YMCA in Bay Shore wants $145/year PLUS $85 every 8 weeks. I think that's a little crazy. I'm not sure how much Saf T Swim is I plan on checking that out this weekend.
ETA: I'm looking for a place in the East Islip area.

Re: Swimming Lessons
I'm not sure of other places, but it sounds like the pricing you got for the YMCA is cheaper than Saf T Swim.
Saf T Swim (I just called this week to sign up DD) is running a promo right now, so you will save 30% off your first package. There is a $15 deposit for the year. So for the first 6 weeks they priced me $174 (usually $249), then every 6 weeks after it'll be about $180 (if I commit to 30 classes). The cheapest price after the first 6 weeks is $149 (if you commit to 60 classes).
I hope this didn't confuse the heck out of you! But, I figured I'd share the prices I got!

Oh my goodness! I might as well stick with the YMCA.
ETA: I just called the YMCA back. The $145 is for one adult with children. I don't take any classes at the YMCA (except the Living Social deal I just bought) so just for DS its $70 for the year and $85 every 8 weeks. I feel a little better about that now.

Swimming Lessons
My nephew went to Gold's Gym in Islip for swimming lessons and loved it. Not sure how much it costs though.

Re: Swimming Lessons
YMCA is definitely cheaper than Safety Swim. And once they are a member of the YMCA there are some free things that they can do. I know they have a kids Zumba class, family gym time, etc.
