Re: when your child wakes up in the middle of the night..
It doesn’t matter who is working in the morning or not.
Generally its whoever hears her and then who ever convinced the other to go, if at all! When she was 4m and under she co slept so no biggie there. Then later it was just whoever heard her because we generally don’t wake up the other. I won’t lie though, there are times I hear her and elbow him LOL. He does the same to me.
Now she’s old enough to call for someone specific. She’ll usually rotate us on her own. Once it was me, the next time it was Daddy. She’s an equal opportunity kind of gal. Lately she’s been waking up for ‘bad dreams’ so one of us goes in there around 2am. We spend a few minutes with her then come back to bed.
I’m a FTWM (with a PT job) He’s a FTWD
She’s Mama’s best friend and Daddy’s little princess!
small side story Last night I accidently bumped her lip (not hard at all) and she started to cry. Mostly because she was tired more than because it hurt. So we were talking through her tears and our usual "because your my best friend" thing happened and she said "but your best friend is crying right now"

Me - always has been that way. I EBF though, so it really has to be on me. I am also a FTWM. It is hard! However, my dh is amazing and wakes up early with her EVERY single morning so I can sleep in until 7 during the week and 9 on the weekends!

Re: when your child wakes up in the middle of the night..
I do. Happens very rarely, but it happened last night. I am FTWM, and DH was off from work today. I literally had to shake him awake and ask him to take care of her (she's sick). We always have the "whoever is off the next day" plan in place (and if we're both working the next day I am the one to get up since my job doesn't involve potential life/death situations so it's less of a big deal if i'm exhausted). Despite the plan, I always seem to get up.

Re: when your child wakes up in the middle of the night..
I do. I work full time. DS hardly ever wakes up but when he does, he usually wants me anyway and will fall back to sleep immediately, so I don't mind.

DH NEVER
DS is 3.5 and it's been me from day one...though we are expecting twins so that's going to have to change. I am a FTWM too.

Re: when your child wakes up in the middle of the night..
The boys rarely wake up at night. When they do, we both wake up usually but we both lay there, quietly, secretly hoping the other person will get up first.

Always me...and I also work FT. I'm also the one who takes off when DS is sick or has to go to the Dr.
DH just rolls over and continues to snore

Re: when your child wakes up in the middle of the night..
We both work full time. In the very beginning he would bring DS in to me to nurse because I had a very difficult recovery and had trouble getting out of bed. For a long time I was usually the one to go in because DS always wanted me, and I was able to get him back down the quickest by nursing him back to sleep. When we decided to night-wean DH started going in and it helped DS STTN more regularly. Now if DS wakes (rarely) DH will go in because if I go in I will cave and nurse him and it usually leads to more nightwaking down the road...

when your child wakes up in the middle of the night..
I did every single time up until ds was born in January. Now if it's not around feeding time I still go in to dd and bring the monitor so ican watch ds. Dh doesn't hear him or her for that matter. If it's nearly feeding time ords is up I send in dh who walks in her room, lays on her floor and falls asleep lol

Re: when your child wakes up in the middle of the night..
My girls are small but DH gets home at like 1 am. Sometimes one wakes before he has even gone to bed so he goes in. Then last night one woke at 3 and I went in (2x). Then they woke to eat at 5:20 (instead of 4:30) and since I had to be up at 6am, I had him feed both. I found him sleeping on the glider with 1 at 6:30 lol. Normally we each take one. No one sleeps around here.

Sometimes me, sometimes him. Depends who hears her.
Same for us. We take turns usually. But we're both awake, it's not like one of us sleeps through it.

It's always me, 100% of the time. And I'm a FTWM. DH never hears him. I think I could bring DS into the room screaming and DH would still be asleep lol

when your child wakes up in the middle of the night..
90% of the time it's me. DH is a very light sleeper so even if DS rolls over(in the next room), DH literally jumps out of bed and races next door. It's actually pretty funny to watch lol
