17 weeks and still not gaining weight...
I don't understand it. I have growing inside me that are 7oz each according to my drs office yesterday and then they weighed me and found out I'm down another 2 pounds!!!! I don't understand if... I was down at least 15 from the first trimester as now I'm still losing. I know they're ok and I've tried to say it is what it is, but its frustrating me... I lost weight before getting pregnant and I was overweight still so I know it's not a big deal. It's just annoying b/c I have dietary restrictions due to allergies and can't eat most of the things I want to. Plus I'm still getting morning sickness.... They made me see a nutritionist my 1st trimester and I'm just hoping not to have to go back to her... Vent over...

If your DRs are aware and OK with it, then your body is doing what it wants/needs to do, and you can't really control it. I don't really see whats annoying about it. As long as the babies are fine, I don't see a problem.

I'm 16 weeks and have not gained any weight yet either. I asked my doctor about it at my appt last week and she said "don't worry, the weight will come". She told me to make sure I eat every 2 hrs even if it's just something small. She also said the recommended weight gain for me is only about 25 lbs, so with approx 23 weeks to go I should be fine. As long as your babies are growing well and you're eating healthy you're ok. Hang in there!

The dr was ok with it my 1st trimester... He hasn't mentioned it to me lately because they don't weigh me until my appointment is over and I'm leaving. I think it's more the tone that the nurse takes when she tells me I'm down again... As though its a bad thing. when I replied that the dr seems ok with it so far b/c he said I was overweight to begin with she tells me he thinks he's overweight himself (which obviously she doesn't agree with)... it is what it is, but constantly being told i should be eating more and why aren't I gaining any weight by DH and my closest family all adds in to the part that's frustrating to me... It took us a very long time to get (and stay) pregnant and it just makes me worry that I'm not doing things right I guess... It's hard to explain it but it definitely frustrates me...

Thanks! I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one! I was told 5 weeks ago that I should gain a pound a week from that point on and instead I'm still down... I'm happy to know they're growing though

I have the same concern. At 15W I was my same weight but the doc didn't seem concern because she said that normally it happens during your 2nd trimester. Lately my apetite has opened up so I know that I will be gaining weight this trimester. You can gain up to 12lbs on the second trimester FYI

Everyone gains differently. If your Dr. says it's ok, don't worry about it. Hang in there!

My SIL lost 45lbs while pregnant..... The doctor said that since she was significantly overweight before getting pregnant she was fine!

Re: 17 weeks and still not gaining weight...
Im in the same boat as you! 16 weeks and still down 7 pounds. I think its because of morning sickness and also changing the way I eat. I used to drink soda everyday, now I can't hold anything carbonated or greasy down. Plus I've been eating tons of fruit. Doctor said everything was fine and my sono last night revealed I have a big placenta so I know the baby is getting good nourishment! We'll gain it soon enough Im sure

Re: 17 weeks and still not gaining weight...
I am 21 weeks and I've gained 2 lbs, I lost 10lbs in the beginning then just stayed at the same weight for a few months. I feel like I gained a ton this past month though!
