Nunley's Carousel Party Question
I've seen limited reviews of Nunley's and I'm looking into having DDs 1st birthday party there in June.
The only availability is 1-3pm on Sunday- which is while the carousel is open to the public.
For those who have been there, would you still book a party if it were not private?? I really love the idea of the carousel party but I can't get over the fact that there could be strangers at my daughter's party!!
Help?!

Nunley's Carousel Party Question
We just DS's 4th Birthday there on the 17th...but we had the private time. I chose that because I had a lot of people coming and wanted the privacy. I have to admit that at the end of the party when the carousel opened to the public it was a little weird having random people walking in. I know the party was set up on one side of the carousel so the public wouldn't interfere with the food/crafts, etc but not sure how they know who is for the party and can ride unlimited or people who have to buy tickets. Aside from that, they did a great party and I had adults and kids coming up to me after saying what a fun time they had and I would totally recommend it! If you can postpone party a little and do it private time, I would try to do that.

Re: Nunley's Carousel Party Question
Had my daughters party there this weekend. DH really wanted her party there and in the 2 weekends we were looking at only 1 time was available and it was a public time. I always avoid places that are open to the public and this was the first time I did a kiddie party like this.
There were some people there but it wasn't too bad and honestly I was surprised how I was able to ignore it and it didn't phase me at all. I wouldn't steer away. It was a rainy day and so I hoped it would keep people away but there were more than I expected (I assume leaving the other museums and stopping in). Gues I was lucky in it was all families with young, quiet children. No rowdies other than my own guests.
I did the late party 330-5pm. It worked out nicely. One weird thing - since we were the last party they didn't wristband my guests because it ended at closing time. Some strangers kept riding the carousel and the people who ran the party never questioned them - they got several free rides. Didn't effect my numbers -as they didn't join us for pizza or crafts -lol.

Nunley's Carousel Party Question
I had DD"s 1st bday party there. They did a nice job but somehow I felt that my guests didnt end up riding the carousel much, I think the girls working there that day were not that experienced and didnt do a great job getting everyone involved in the party. Then again there was so much going on and i was so busy trying to get pictures that maybe it just seemed that way to me. Anyway. I just wanted to comment on the unlimited rides issue-- I have been there on a regular day where they didnt even check tickets after the first ride, so I am not sure how strict they are.

Re: Nunley's Carousel Party Question
I personally would not want to have a party while open to the public. Do they have any private openings in late may or early July?

Nunley's Carousel Party Question
We had DD's party there last summer. (3rd bday). I did not want to do a public party so we waited and did her bday the week after her actual bday so it could private. It was awesome. The carousel ran the entire party. DD literally rode it the whole time. Only stopped for pizza and cake. She had a blast and almost one year later still talks about it.

Depends on the package you book. There is a 1.5 hour package and a 2 hour one.
We did the 2 hour one.
It included time on the carousel, Pizza, back on the carousel, they made craft (crowns), back on carousel, then they played game "pin the crown on the princess" it was a girl party , back on the carousel, then cake and carousel again
We had the walls open to the outside so the kids got to play a little outside but it was one of the hottest days of the summer so they spent more time inside (it was like 99 degrees that day.
It was an adorable party.

Re: Nunley's Carousel Party Question
I had DS 2nd birthday there in November during the public time. I'm sure it was less busy than it would be in the summer but it didn't effect my party at all having others ride the carousel. Even when I had been there in the summer, it's never really too crowded. I also think having a party start at 10 am is very early! But that's JMO.
I think the girls doing the party did a great job. There really wasn't much for them to do though except hand out pizza and organize the activity... It was a great marty for my son and all invited!

Re: Nunley's Carousel Party Question
Thanks everyone for your responses. I actually booked the party during the public time - 1-3pm on a Sunday in June - because that is all that was available. I'm hoping the public won't interfere too much ;)

Re: Nunley's Carousel Party Question
I'm between Nunleys and Adventureland for my dd's 3rd birthday in July. I will have both boys and girls between the ages of 1 and 11. I'm worried that Nunleys might be too "babyish" for some of the older boys, but my dd loves carousels, but also loves all rides. Which would you recommend?
