New color for shutters
I have a yellow house (hate it, but what can I do right now) with green shutters (hate them too). The shutters have now faded sufficiently to justify replacing or painting them. I am thinking either navy blue or burgundy. Opinions? Front door is white, but I'm going to paint it too.
BTW: front of house gets full sun all day, so the shutters have faded in just 7 years, so I'm looking for something that may last a bit longer too.

Is it yellow yellow or pale yellow? I have a very pale yellow house and we have burgundy shutters and a full glass burgundy storm door and I think it looks nice.

I think you need some contrast against the yellow...I actually like a really dark green with yellow. But I think navy or burgundy would work well, too.
What color is your roof? If it's a "cool tone" I would do navy, and a "warmer tone" I would go with the burgundy.

We have a yellow house with navy shutters and a maroon door. It took awhile to get the accent colors right so that it didn't look like a circus tent, but I like the way it came out.
