Hershey Lodge

I want to take my girls to Hershey the last week of May. Just for a few days.

At Hershey Lodge the price is $700 for 2 days! It includes 2-day passes to Hershey Park and free breakfast for the girls. Is this normal? Seems outrageous to me!

Are my expectations unrealistic (I am willing to spend $500)? Any recommendations for nearby places with a pool?

TIA!

We've stayed at the Days Inn nearby and were happy with it. It's a lot more affordable!

The Days Inn also has a free shuttle to the park.

I think it was 500 last June when we went with all that you listed plus tickets to the zoo.

The zoo is included in regular Hershey Park tickets. There are plenty of hotels nearby that aren't nearly that expensive. Marriott Townplace Suites is nice, full kitchen, free breakfast. I buy our tickets on ebay and stay at a place nearby.

Re: Hershey Lodge

I know alot of people say it but we loved best western eden resorts...it was about a 20 min drive to hershey but the pools(indoor and outdoor) made it worth the drive.
I cant recall how much it was but it wasnt near as expensive as hershey

Is it really only 20 minutes? How far is it from Dutch? It takes us about 40 minutes to get from Lancaster to Hershey

Just checked the price and it is $635 at Eden including tickets but for a 2-bedroom. Definitely something to think about. Gonna check Days Inn next.

Google says about 45 minutes from Eden to Hershey.

I would buy the tix separate. There is a coupon code on their site for $20 off right now. There are hotels minutes away so I wouldn't stay 45 away. Especially if you are doing preview night.

Yes it's normal but I think it's worth it if you have the $$. I love it there and prefer to spend the $ to stay there.

Re: Hershey Lodge

We are staying at Eden this June. My husband friend went last year and loved it. The site says 30-40 minute drive to hershey but DH friend said it only took him 15 minutes.
I got a two bedroom villa. I love that my kids are in a seperate room so me and my DS can hang out at night and not worry about being too loud.

Re: Hershey Lodge

I priced Hershey and felt that I can go to Disney, flight included for the same price!!! We stayed at Eden last summer & my parents go there often but I really want to be closer to Hershey. I will probably just stay at the Lodge but complain about the price Chat Icon . At least it is about $100 less than the Hershey Hotel (which does look amazing!).

ETA: We did love Eden, just want to stay closer to Hershey.

Re: Hershey Lodge

I have visited Hershey numerous times to take my family to Hershey Park and visit some of the surrounding attractions and we usually stay at the Hlton in the Hershey/Harrisburg Area. We went just last year and they had a great package that included 2 tickets to the park, 2 whitaker center tickets, breakfast at their restaurant downstairs and an overnight room. I remember it being maybe around $400. They didn't include transportation, but it was only a 15 minute drive.

I am actually hoping that they offer it again this year since it is such a great deal!!

We stayed at the Staybridge Suites in Harrisburg and loved it. We had a nice 2-bedroom suite with a kitchen and they had an indoor pool. It's about 20 min from Hershey.

Re: Hershey Lodge

I am also looking into a Hershey vacation.

For the weekend I want, it is about $400 per night for Hershey Lodge WITHOUT any tickets so your $700 for 2 nights plus tickets sounds pretty good.

I was actually looking at Hotel Hershey, which I believe is the premium hotel and it costs $500 per night in June and that does not include tickets. We are looking for a nice resort with amenities that is driving distance and our options seem to be really limited.

Re: Hershey Lodge

I enjoy coming to the Hershey area to go to Hershey Park with my family. I usually stay at the Hilton in Harrisburg instead of anywhere in Hershey due to the outrageous prices. I actually just booked a weekend in June with them. They run a Hershey Park Package that starts around $299 depending on the type of room you book, but they include two tickets to Hershey Park, breakfast for two in their restaurant and 2 tickets to the Whitaker center which is right next to them. I have done my research on other hotels and Hilton definitely has the best offer!

We stayed at the Main Stay in Grantsville....5 miles from Hershey. I would stay there again. Close by, cheap, kitchenette, free breakfast, indoor pool and game room.
