Summer getaway
My DH and I are thinking of a place to take our daughters for a few days. One daughter is 2 (typical)and Em will be 6 (autistic). Places like Dutch wonderland are out because Em doesn't really like rides. She does best in places that are not overly crowded. We did Lake George last year. We just want some ideas on where to go overnight, or 2/3 days.

Last summer we went to Rehoboth Beach, DE.
I highly recommend.
They had a very nice little amusement park for the kids that was not super crowded, or expensive, but I know you said she's not crazy about rides.
We took the kids there a few times as well as just spending most of our time hanging out on the beach.
I can't speak a lot about accomodations because my ILs paid for a huge beach house rental.
I did see a few hotels though, along with smaller house rentals.

We've gone to Montauk the last few summers. It's very relaxed, just hang out at the pool and beach all day.

Andrea, Fire Island is on our list. We took the girls last year and Em loved it. She can't wait to go to the beach!

We went to the Omni at Mount Washington
there was a kids club, indoor and outdoor pools, playground, brook, golf, tennis, lift up to the top of the ski mountain, rock climbing walls, ATV ride on the ski mountain...tons to do and still great to do not much...KWIM?
