LIJ Maternal Fetal Medicine Docs / High Risk-Update
I asked on the pregnancy board with 0 responses so I figured let me ask here. If you used the MFM docs at LIJ do you know if they have evening hours? I'm waiting for a call back for a consult but trying to figure out if they do for work schedule purposes.

Update:
I had my consult with them Friday and saw Dr Meirowitz who is really nice and thorough. My biggest fear has come...I have to see them from 26 weeks onward for NST. I am not a happy camper since their scheduling is not at all flexible.  I go back in a few weeks for my level 2 which is in the middle of the day(another sick day will have to be used) sigh

Are you referring to the Dr Klein, Alkasab, Nimaroff practice? If so, yes they have evening hours - they delivered #2 & 3 (Dr Alkasab) and love them. I was very high risk with #2 and switched to their practice at 20+ wks b/c I didn't feel comfortable where I was...

I was with this practice and they made me regret it every single day of my pgnancy, I had a very bad experience and would never recommend them to anyone especially Klein and Nimaroff , very good specialists but terible bedside manner, they just don't listen and don't remember anything when it comes to your history. Klein messed up big time with me...
I did love Akasab and would highly recommend her.
Gilbert delivered my DS , I only saw her 2x before the CS day, and not a good experience at all, she was very cold, barely said a word to me , she never even came to see me after the surgery . She basically came in, did the surgery and left and never saw her again.
In short my personal experience with them was not good at all and would never recommend the group to anyone.

Agree terrible! They totally messed up with me. Didn't tell me I had a UTI until a month later. Was drawing my blood with tubes rolling on the floor because no space. Terrible bedside manner, threw the Doppler on the counter after being tired of answering questions.....

I saw Dr Deepak Nanda... I only saw him on Saturdays and days I had off so I only went in the morning or afternoon... But I'm fairly certain he has some days with late hours!

I thought Klein was Manhasset?

I was a frequant visitor during my last pregnancy due to an incompetent cervix. Dr meirowitz performed an emergency cerclage surgery at 21 weeks. She was awesome - the whole practice was awesome! Can't say enough good things about them.
To answer your original question, yes they do have late and weekend hours. Be prepared to wait. They oftentimes get backed up. It can be frustrating; however have patience. They are wonderful and oftentimes they have emergencies which come up during normal routine visits which requires more of their time without warning. I know it happened to me as I was one of them!

I used ths MFM practice and was extremely happy. I was monitored very closely due to an autoimmune disease. Saw almost all of those docs and felt they all knew what they were doing. Nanda and Brown were my favorites. I would def use them again. I went mostly in the early mornng so i cant help with the late hours ?.

Thanks ladies! My OB is sending me to them for a consult, but I have a feeling I will see them my entire pregnancy since I have a history of clots and DVTs during pregnancy.
