What do you do on weekends for fun?

We go to movies, bowling, shopping, eat out etc. I guess we are boring and need some hobbies. All our friends are married with small kids. When we get together friends, the moms are consumed with taking care of the kids and don't really have time to socialize. So we don't do that often anymore. What fun things do you do on weekends?

DH and I love going out to eat. We try to keep it to one nice place, once a week (b/c it gets $$). Usually Friday we'll go out to a nice restaurant and Sat. if we're bored, we'll go somewhere cheaper and sit at the bar for a few drinks, maybe watch sports if there's something good on. If we're feeling lazy, we also enjoy watching a movie with a bottle of wine (do you see a boozy theme here? ). We moved off of LI recently for my DH's job, into a city where tons of stuff is walkable, so it's much easier to visit new restaurants, not have to worry about drinking & driving, etc.

We love taking the dog for long walks and to the dog park. In the summer, walks on the beach. In the summer/fall we love going to the vineyards or taking a drive out to the north fork. (things I will miss about LI). We'll sometimes do charity type events, usually that we can bring the dog to (like Bark for Life).

But yea, eating/drinking is always near #1 on our list Sadly we don't have many "hobbies" that i could suggest. My DH golfs a ton in the summer but i'm not into it.

May be we should get a dog too. It will give us an excuse to go to parks

My friends joke that I hibernate in the winter...it's kind of true. Unless there is some kind of occasion or a show I really want to see, I'm perfectly happy doing jack shit on the weekend - just hang at home, tidy up, play music, cook some great meals, do some home repairs, etc.

I've been looking forward to the warmer weather for a couple of weeks now...itching to get out, cabin fever and all...

Generally, our weekends in spring/summer/fall include:
- going to the park
- working in the garden
- going to Central Park
- checking out museums (rainy days)
- BBQ'ing in our yard with friends
- sitting in the yard reading alllll daaaaay looooong in peace and quiet :)
- going to outdoor concerts
- Coney Island
- day drinking
- beer gardens
- Brooklyn Flea
- Hester Street Fair
- taking the subway and just getting off at a random stop to check out a new neighborhood

Winter, not much. Tomorrow i'm at a City Hall rally for Rockaway Beach. Wanna come?

Summer (pre sandy of course) bikeride, beach, kayak, nature hikes.

We usually go to the movies, eat out, I read while he watches sports, rent a movie, go shopping. We dont really do much.

We are soooo boring on the weekends. Usually we go out to eat & have a few drinks. In the summer we like to go to Virgina Beach and walk the board walk. I love staying in my Pj's on Sundays (when not working) reading the sunday paper or a book.

I have been living in New York for about 10 years but never been to rockaway beach or Coney Island. I drove past Coney Island so many times but never stopped there. I am going to go to there when the weather gets better.

naps
eating out
walk or run in the park or by the water
shopping
catch up on dvr shows
Usually nothing too exciting!

I honestly don't feel like I have that much free time, to the point of being bored.

We are usually doing home maintence type stuff, cooking, see ing family & sometimes going into Manhattan to see our freinds who don't have kids.

We do go out out to eat on Friday & Saturday usually.

This weekend, we were cleaning out a closet, hanging paintings, shoppign for frames for other paintings, doing taxes and looking for a hotel room for an upcoming trip to see friends who moved OOS.

In January we saw a lot of movies. When it is nicer but we try to go for bike rides & walks.
