National Grid & LIPA went up!!
Prices went up again??? I wish there was someone else we could use! Unreal. I'm so annoyed!
National grid used to be 129 now 149
Lipa it was 65 and this month 106!! We are always shutting off the lights!

Yep it's going to sadly increase over 8 years to pay for Hurricane Sandy.

Just heard everyone's Lipa bill will be going down soon about $13.
That's what I thought I heard on the news this morning.
So really, you're bill will go up about $20 quietly, then they'll swoop in and be the 'heros' when they make your bill go down approx $13-still making a $7 a month profit from each household.

Mine went up $40 a month as well.  And I was without power for weeks from the hurricane. Really hate them!

we're not even in our house yet, it's completely gutted with only 2 temporary lights that occasionally we use when someone is there doing work and we just got a $50 LIPA bill...it's ridiculous

how do you guys tell it went up? what are you comparing?
my bill is never the same each month. Im not on balancing billing so one month its estimated and the other month its actual.

I'm on balanced billing. We were out of our home for over a month with Sandy, (no utilities on at all) and at the end of our cycle this past month, I got a bill for over $1500 from National Grid.
Last year I checked and we only owed around $500 at the end of our cycle. I called and they sent someone out to read the meter, and it got reduced, but it was still $855 in total.
I am convinced they went up as a result of the storm.

Oh I didn't realize you were talking about a bill from October/November. I thought you meant recent usage. I know our usage for January to now was more than last year since our heating system (gas) uses electricity also, and we ran it more this winter.

It really went up for us and we def. didnt use more... so not fair. I cant even imagine how much worse it would be if I wasnt always shutting the lights off like a nut
