Question about delivering at Winthrop
Hi Ladies!
I am due with my first baby in a few days and will be delivering at Winthrop. Here's a question for those of you who have delivered there before...
Once you have given birth, how long after delivery are you are moved into one of the postpartum recovery rooms?
Thanks! I heard great reviews so keeping my fingers crossed for a positive experience.

Question about delivering at Winthrop
It varies, but on average within 2 hours after delivery. Certain factors may delay such as if the postpartum units(there are 2) full it can take longer because obviously you would have to wait for a bed to become available.

Re: Question about delivering at Winthrop
I would say it was about 2 hours. I had to wait for my epi to wear off, get up and pee. Once I did that they brought me to my room. I just delivered there and had a really good experience!
Eta: my wait may have been a little longer because after I delivered they gave me another dose of the epi because my ob wanted to go in and feel my csection scar to check to make sure it didn't rupture.

Re: Question about delivering at Winthrop
csection - within 2 hours as long as BP is good and you can move your legs. I was down there for much longer with my DD bc my pressure was very low, like 89/40.

Re: Question about delivering at Winthrop
I don't remember the exact time frame, but it seemed fairly quick. like PPs have said within 1-2 hours.
sidenote....my dr said that winthrop is attempting to keep the rooms to 1 occupant (key word: attempting) to keep up with local hospitals
