Am i overreacting?
So, I usually pick up DD from school. Today, I had a work event after work and hired a sitter to take DD home, expecting DD to come home his usual time. I told the babysitter I would only need her until 7:30 (when DH comes home from work) and no need to bathe her or put her to bed.
Well I am out at my work event and i get a text from DH that he is just leaving work at 8. DH works in Syosset and we live in the city. I was furious! Not that he was working late- that happens. But to not tell me until it was an hour after he was expected home. I was livid! DD didn't get to bed on time (which makes her cranky at school) and didn't get a bath. He thought I was already home, but didn't see what the big deal was because she was home with a good sitter. I couldn't believe that he wouldn't communicate with me that he was running late- knowing that I was going to be home late night.
Am I overreacting or is he as wrong as I think he is?

I could see why he wouldn't think it was a big deal if you were home but yes, he should have called earlier.
It's not a fatal thing but I'd be annoyed. I'd be even more annoyed because no one wants to piss off a good babysitter.

This is what I was thinking. As long as he apologized and realizes why it was a mistake I wouldn't hold it against him, accidents happen.

It sounds like mis-communication but I would be annoyed too. Mainly because I couldn't call the sitter to let her know she needed to stay longer.
