When did you go to your first prenatal appt?

I just found out I am pregnant, but it is very early on.

Last time I was pregnant I had to go to an RE so I saw the RE until about 10 weeks and then switched over to my OB.

This time around, we got pregnant on our own. I was wondering when I should schedule my first appointment with my OB. Also, when did you first see/hear the heartbeat?

Call your OB, each doctor has their own procedures, for example, my doctor didn't want to see me until 8 weeks.

congrats! I went at 6.5 weeks

If you have a high risk past I think 6 weeks is the norm. This is when I was supposed to go but we couldn't find a time that worked so I went right at 7 weeks. We saw the heartbeat then, it was a tiny flicker from an internal sono.

mine had me come in as soon as you tell them you got a positive pregnancy test. They didnt even ask me how far along i thought i was. Turned out i was only 4 weeks ... i thought i was 5 weeks at least.

my dr didn't want to see me until i was between 8-9 weeks, so my first appt is may 13th (i'll be 8w4d).

Every doc is different - I have a special relationship with mine b/c DH and I went through a lot to get pregnant. We were lucky, though, because we conceived right before having to explore alternative methods and things of that nature. So, naturally, because it took long for me to get PG and because I had surgery with my doc to remove a cyst causing a blockage, etc. when I found out I was pregnant I didn't believe it. I called him the very next day and he had me come in that afternoon. I took a test at his office and he was like, well, it's the real deal and he and I were both shocked, honestly. So, then he had me do a sono - I saw a little egg sac lol a little bean. This was literally about a week after my missed period.

But, call and explain the situation and see what they say - I know each office is a little different. He had me immediately go for alllll sorts of blood work, watching my levels, making sure they increased to a certain amount, etc. He has been watching me like a hawk ever since but so far, so good

i went around 6 weeks 2 days.

My doctor won't see a patient until 8 weeks- I was off on my dates though and ended up there at 5 weeks.

At that point, they couldnt see the heartbeat because it was too early and then I had to go for bloodwork to check my levels and extra sonos- it was stressful and I wish I had figured out my dates and gone later

I went too early at 5 weeks that's when they scheduled me... at that point I didn't see much just the fetal pole and yolk sac ....they asked me to returned a week after for the heartbeat

6w I saw the little bean and got the heartbeat at that time.

Like girls have said above, each doctor is different. I found out when I was only 3 weeks pregnant and called the doctor. They scheduled me at 8 weeks. I was throwing up a lot and ended up in the hospital at 6 weeks and they did a sono then. We got to see and hear the heartbeat.

I called as soon as I got my BFP bc I wanted to get an appt around a specific time. I went in at 7 weeks 2 days and saw the heartbeat flickering away

8-9 weeks for first appt with all 3 kids. I had a sono and could see the heartbeat at that appt.

Thanks for all the responses ladies. I called my OB and they said between 6-7 wks.

I went early too. I went at 5w5d and again at 6w and 6w3d. We saw a heartbeat at our 6w3d appointment.
Between 6-7 weeks is good. They can check to be sure it implanted in the right spot and by that point you should get a flicker.

I think it was about 8.5-9 weeks.

my OB does it at 8-10 weeks. I had mine at 8.5 weeks

They asked when my last period was and automatically scheduled it for 8 weeks.

I went to my RE until I was 7 weeks - had my first OBGYN appt at 8 weeks.

When did you go to your first prenatal appt?

It was between 7-8 weeks and we saw the little nub and a strong heartbeat.
