Nuvaring users?
This is my first month on nuvaring. I am scheduled to remove it tomorrow. But my period started today? It does not appear to be spotting or breakthrough bleeding. It feels an looks like a period. What do I do? Take it out a day early? leave it? does this mean it is not suppressing ovulation? Dr. Google is no help! Tia!

Your best best it to call your doctor. Your period isnt suppose to start for 2-3 days after you take it out. However, if it is your first month you may not be 100% regulated on it. I was on NR for a few months but had the option of keeping it in for a month and replace with a new one to prevent my period. That never worked for me.

Re: Nuvaring users?
I would do exactly what you are supposed to, 3 weeks in, one week out. I've gotten my period before I took it out before and then sometimes it takes a few days after I take it out. Its weird.
Calling your doctor is probably the right thing to do here but if you can't get them, I'd stick to the schedule.

Re: Nuvaring users?
Thanks ladies. Ugh really? As I said I had an awful experience with paragard and needed a hysteroscopy to remove it. I had high hopes for nuvaring! Well thanks for the feedback :)

Nuvaring users?
It's really up to the way your body responds with the Nuvaring. Usually when you are starting a new form of BC, your body still needs time to get use to the hormones. A early menses is a normal side effect. I usually tell my patients to wait it out for 3 mons, if they can.
