My VBAC Story
I don't post very often, but I know how encouraging VBAC stories can be, as I was always looking at them. I had an emergency section with my son because the cord was around his neck and his heart rate was dropping. I knew that I wanted to try for. VBAC immediately. DS was big so I knew I had that against me, but I was still determined. DD arrived 9 days early. For two days I was having what I thought were BH and cramping. I figured at this point I would know when real labor began. At the end of the second day of feeling very uncomfortable I started having awful stomach pains. Honestly, I thought I was either indigestion or gas pains bc they were frequent, lasted at least a minute and were high up. After lying on the floor in the fetal position screaming and crying in pain, DH called the dr. I still was convinced this was not labor. It felt completely different. I called a friend who is a L&D nurse and she said that the scar tissue might cause contractions to feel different and that since I wanted a VBAC, to get to the hospital right away. Off we went. I got there and got hooked up. Contractions were mild, but regular so they watched me or a while. After 2 hours they admitted me. Overnight they slowed down but never stopped. At 9 am I was 2 cm and they broke my water. Contractions got intense. It took a few hours together to 4 cm, then an hour later I was 8. About 20 minutes after tha I felt some pressure. I did some practice pushes and they broke down the table and I was ready to go. I was still in disbelief. I really didn't think my pushes were doing anything and I would still wind up with a section. I only pushed for 20 minutes and out she came! It was so surreal! I encourage anyone who wants this to go for it! The recovery is definitely different but so much easier than my section was.

My VBAC Story
Congratulations!!
I really want a VBAC this time. Just had the scary doctor conversation where they tell you everything terrible. I also spoke with my friend who is an NP in a high risk practice and she doesn't think I'll be a good candidate for a VBAC. She and my doctor had the same concern -- DS was 9 lbs 5 oz at birth -- and if this baby is anything close to that, they will schedule me for a C-section.

Re: My VBAC Story
DS was 9 lbs 4 oz and DD was 8 lbs 15 oz. dr said my pelvis was wide enough. I must say, my Dr was very supportive. She helped me through the entire thing and gave me a lot help during the delivery to get DD out quick so she didn't have the chance to stall the labor.

This gives me hope!! Thanks! My doctor did say I could be successful but I'd have to go into labor on my own like you did.
