Electric cars...
Anyone have one? Reviews? Which one? We are looking into it as an extra car since I have the SUV for the kids and DH has a work truck. We need something else to have in case we are separate with the boys or something. Just inexpensive commuter car. Love that you never pay for gas.

But you pay for electricity and not sure it is that much of a savings.

Yeah, was wondering about that, but I can't imagine it adding up to what we pay for gas.

Re: Electric cars...
We have a Pruis Plug -In, which is DH's primary car. He travels a little over 500 miles per week. He LOVES it. On average he spends about $33 every 6 days in gas. Even though it is a plug in, his commute in 1-day uses the charge + gas. There is plenty of room for the booster and car seat for our boys in the back seat and the trunk is relatively spacious.
A purely electric car like i think the Nissan Leaf works probably best for short distance trips. It wouldn't have worked for DH since he travels so many miles in one day.
In terms of the additional electrical cost I cannot really comment on that. We haven't really felt any sort of huge electric bill increase, but we also have solar panels. I will say looking at our electrical usage last year before we had the car to this year I haven't seen a huge spike.
Hope this was helpful.
