IUI #2 BFN Update
Ugh, I'm so frustrated! Everything looked GREAT on paper...
My doctor thinks we should go to IVF to improve our chances, and while I'm inclined to agree...We're out of pocket for the WHOLE thing. We've only got one shot at this, and what if it doesn't work?!? Then what? We wouldn't even be in a position to consider adoption.
I don't even know what it's like to be pregnant... and now that I'm almost 39, I feel like I missed my chance.
I feel like I've let myself down, and my DH down, and I don't know what to do.
UPDATE: DH and I have decided to give IUI with clomid one more shot and if that doesn't work IVF in August. We were originally going to do IVF for July, but with my period starting any minute now -- it was just too much to try and coordinate. I'm OK with it, I'd rather we didn't have to do it at all, but if it gives us that take home baby, then it will all be worth it.

 I feel your pain it took a long time to sell me on ivf. Ultimately you have a better chance and it's not even guaranteed. Good luck with your decision!

I'm.so sorry!! I.know how you feel. Every month we look good on paper. I am on iui #6 then on to IVF. We are OOP too. Stay positive. You didn't miss the boat!!!

IUI #2 BFN
So sorry. I totally feel you. We always look good on paper too. No issues known....unexplained. I was BFN today on IUI #4 today so I totally get it...its frustrating and upsetting. IVF does have way higher chances but people do get preg on IUI. Its a tough call. Hang in there.

I'm sorry. I know what you are feeling. It's really hard getting those BFNs.
If it helps, it took me until my 3rd IUI to get a BFP, it was ectopic and obv. didn't work out, but it happened.

I hear you!!! You have a good chance with IVF but it is never guaranteed. Hang in there and you never know. I got preg on my own after three failed IUI's. It didn't stick but it was a start! Hoping you have a better cycle soon!

I'm so sorry :( I definitely can relate. I respond so well every month and we are now in the middle of the 2WW for our 5th IUI but it's not looking good for us. We are on to IVF after this cycle. Hang in there...sending you & all the other ladies lots of

Totally understand. My IUI resulted in BFN so I'm going to IUI with injections next. It's a tough road but hang in and try to keep positive....

There is nothing you did to cause this situation, please don't feel like youlet anyone down. Our planet is tainted, our environment is destroyed, and our fertility is paying the price 
If I had known the heartache and trauma of going through so many iui's, I would have done IVF from day one. We both looked good on paper, too, but at 36 years old, I wish I had jumped ship and dove into IVF immediately. It worked on the first try and I have my beautiful girls to show for it!

I'm so sorry! This is all so frustrating with lots of "maybes" and "what ifs" and not nearly enough "YES THIS WILL DEFINITELY WORKS". There is nothing you did wrong, please don't blame yourself. Take a day or two to relax and do something non IF related and then revisit with a clearer head maybe.
This will be my last IUI too and we are moving on to IVF which we too are paying OOP  I know how you feel about the uncertainty of IVF too. That's the reason I've been so reluctant to move on; I feel like it's gambling. 
I wish you the best of luck in whatever decision you make

So sorry, was it you that was outside of Dr Z's office with me yesterday? I was really hoping one of us would be a BFP.

Thank you! This. This exactly. It's an expensive gamble. We only have enough saved for one fresh cycle... and if doesn't work? Then what? I'm so confused.
My DH and I had planned to go straight to IVF, but I respond super well to clomid, and he has no issues... so we figured the IUI would be the answer, and now it isn't...
We have an appointment with our RE tomorrow so we can go into the details and make a decision.

Yup, that was me...I already knew it would be neg. I have no luck. I'm so over this. At this point I am so numb to BFNs and would be in complete shock if I ever get a BFP. Hope you are feeling better today.
edit: Just saw your other posts. That is good you are going in tomorrow to talk to him. I'm going in at 8 am for CD 3 app-bw/sono- on to IUI #5. I really can't believe this is gonna be #5.

That's great that you respond so well to clomid, and great idea to try IUI again before the IVF! Best of luck this cycle!!!!!!!
We tried clomid for three, injectables for the rest, and if this one doesn't take I promised DH I would give in and gamble with the IVF.
It's so hard, but don't give up!!!!!!
