Donating toys

Does anyone know of any places? We are sorting through the boys toys, and I would love to see them go to someone who could use them...thanks!

Donating toys

There is a "page" on FB for collecting furniture for Hurricane Sandy victims (someone on here gave me the info). Maybe they will take the toys too?? The stuff goes to people who truely need it.

Re: Donating toys

Maybe a local daycare, children's room of your library, or your pediatrician's office?

Donating toys

I just dropped children's books off at my pediatrician's office after calling to ask if I could. The staff was surprised by my request and happy to get them. Just be sure whatever you donate is in very good condition.

I have given toys and baby equipment to various daycare centers after calling to ask. Some want them, some don't. Again, be sure everything is nice enough to give to your best friend.

I can not begin to tell you how much junk - dirty and disgusting - was donated to me when I ran a drive for Katrina. I made 11 runs to the dump with my DH's pickup piled to overflowing with it.

Re: Donating toys

Our local library runs a playgroup program and they are always glad to get toys donated for their program. The babysitting room at my gym is also glad to accept toy donations. Otherwise I use Vietnam Veterans (wepickup.org) for boxed or bagged donations.

There are multiple facebook pages for Sandy victims still in need of items. Not sure where you are located but Sayville had a huge donation center running at the old library. Many families with multiple children who lost everything.
