Hmmm....
Interesting that they'll (Patch) write about this but not about the protests or anything like that.

Yea, I guess it’s easier to write about legislature that has already passed. It doesn’t show any puppy- protest support which might make the papers life difficult with advertisers (Simon mall and all the clout they carry).
Perhaps their philosophy is:
Why try to take a chance and improve the world, when you can go along with the status quo and be part of the problem?

You guys need to comment on that article, keep this dialogue going. I sent it to Newsday because although Patch is great, we really need that kind of exposure.

Re: [XPOST] Protest at Smith Haven Mall this Saturday
By the way, if I can find appropriate anti-puppy mill / pro-adoption t-shirts, would anyone want to go hang out with me in front of the store?

[XPOST] Protest at Smith Haven Mall this Saturday
The puppy mill bill (S3753) the New York senate passed recently which I posted a link about concerning puppy mills, still needs to be signed by Andrew Cuomo. If i understand it correctly it would put more power in the hands of the municipalities to regulate stores.
The ASPCA next step would be to use this bill to forbid the sales of dogs in puppy stores with the exception or rescues animals.
This could be the first step for truly solving the problem as everyone knows all puppy store dogs are puppy mill dogs. In fact there is store being sued for lying to their customers that their puppies came from puppy mills.
