If you're looking for a typical "chicken parm" dinner do NOT go here. This place is truly special. Amazing service and unique dishes. You need to make reservations a couple of weeks ahead of time. I went a few months ago and was blown away. Portions are small though

I always recommend Po in the West Village.
It's small though so you will need reservations in advance.

Definitely try Po then. Delish!
There are others on that block too. Went to Parma (I think that's the name) the other night and it was good too...but Po was better. Cool area too.

Cara Mia on 9th bt 45th/46th is still my favorite - local, small, comfortable non touristy place (even though it's in the theater district) - everything is fresh and delicious

Trattoria Tre Colori. DH and I have been here several times and it's always great. It's also very reasonably priced.
