Those that are at the very end (36+) what are you doing...
Home? Working? Are you doing anything in particular? Walking a lot?
I have to do some work on my laptop since I'm teaching a course online and have some conference stuff to do otherwise I'm trying to keep busy with my toddler, house stuff etc. At about 7pm though, I am DONE at that time of day! After dinner I'll clean up and then I'm sitting or laying down watching tv or reading...
Just curious how others are doing at the end
ETA: I'm 39weeks, due on Monday...DH and I have a date night planned for Sat night so at least there's something to look forward to if no baby yet. I'm so worried about going weeks late And you're right, at least it's cooled down!

Re: Those that are at the very end (36+) what are you doing...
36w5d here still working, but doing at least one day a week from home for my doctor's appts....OB wants me to work from home the last 2 weeks before my due date (8/17) which I haven't discussed w/ my boss yet (but every other pregnant woman here has seemed to work from home the last week or two so I can't imagine it would be a problem!).....I feel pretty good but getting more uncomfortable, my biggest fear is going into labor on the subway LOL. Not doing anything to speed this along since I am hoping to hang on at least another 2 weeks or so (I've been at 1 1/2 cm dilated 50% effaced since my 7/12 appt, so we'll see how long this lasts!!). Next appt is tomorrow we'll see if any progress! I am a little more tired but still find myself burning the candle at both ends, was at work until 8:30 last night!!

Re: Those that are at the very end (36+) what are you doing...
I'll be 36 weeks tomorrow. I don't have the energy I used to but it's still pretty good. I'm home with my 3 yo Mon-Thurs and work Friday and 1/2 day Sat. Fri feel like a day off since I'm a psychologist so I basically sit all day. I'm up and about every day from 7ish to about 9PM then I sit on the sofa.
I'm not doing anything in particular. Can't say I walk a lot bc of the mosquitos and the humidity. I do get outside every day with my son though. We haven't done much to get ready for DS2 so that's what I think about. I think but don't do, lol!
I can't complain, I feel really good. Even better than I did with DS1. Feet don't swell, BP is good, all things that came up before. Feeling like a VBAC is a real possibility. Keeping my fingers crossed.
GL Brownie, it's soon!!!!

I'm pretty much done working. Have one more newborn session tomorrow. 39 weeks on Saturday, c/s scheduled for Tuesday. I've been getting out with my three as much as possible and trying to give them a fun summer, since we'll be stuck home for a little while after the new addition. The heat doesn't bother me, we've been doing beach and other fun things!

Re: Those that are at the very end (36+) what are you doing...
I am so glad to read this thread. I was wondering the same thing this morning. It is getting harder and harder to peel myself out of bed in the morning, but Once I am up, I am up and ready to go. My plan is to finish up field visits next week (37w) Work between my two offices the following week to tie up lose ends (38w) And after that, work from my LI office which is only 20 minutes from my hospital until D-day. I unfortunately do not have the option to work from home for more than a day or two, so if I start to get really uncomfortable I will just start my FMLA early.

Those that are at the very end (36+) what are you doing...
I'm 37 wks and for the last 2 weeks I haven't been able to do anythiing. Doc put me on bedrest at 35 wks b/c I was 2 cm dilated and having early contractions. Yesterday I was checked again and I'm still just 2 cm, but now that I'm past the 37 wk mark he has lifted the bedrest restriction. I still have to take it easy, but at least I'm not confined to bed or the couch all day.

Re: Those that are at the very end (36+) what are you doing...
I will be 36wks on Sunday and really taking it easy, as I have been for a while now. I was put on bed rest for preterm labor issues at 22wks, then switched to modified a few weeks later, then had my restrictions lifted completely- but still more or less kept myself on modified
I joked at the time that as soon as I was taken off modified bed rest and given my full freedom back, I started to get REALLY uncomfy in the 3rd trimester and there wasn't much I felt like doing anyway! It was like a catch 22.
By 37 1/2-38wls, I plan on doing lots of walking though!

I'm glad the bed rest was effective at keeping the baby in longer. I know how frustrating bed rest can be, especially when everyone around you says how lucky you are that you get this chance to relax. It's real easy for other people to say but when laying there is your ONLY option, especially with so much to get done around the house for the baby, etc. it gets old really fast! Good job making it through the 2 weeks!

I'm due on Monday too. Still working, going to try to go to work until Wednesday if no baby by then. I'm having a lot of low pelvic pressure, light cramping, constipated feeling... so I guess that's my body getting ready. I have trouble bending so I can't clean as well as I'd like at home & I can't walk as fast, but otherwise I haven't been doing things too differently than usual.

Thanks for the support! It was tough, ESP since it was 3 days after my shower. I so badly wanted to sort thru gifts and put things away. It's also really hard to watch DH do everything after working a full day and I'm just laying around all day. He's a trooper and never complains so I'm very lucky.

Ohh no I haven't been on bed rest this whole time! (though I give SO MUCH credit for anyone who IS on strict bed rest that long! ) I was just on strict for 2 weeks, then placed on modified a few weeks (meaning I was allowed to get out of bed and leave the house to do light activities), then had my restrictions lifted, although more or less kept myself on modified out of paranoia. It comes to a point where the stakes are just so high that you're afraid to rock the boat, ya know?
Anyway, 2 weeks feels like a year when you're the one doing it!
