Outstanding RSVP's - not sure what to do.
My twins are having a skating partry for their 7th birthday this coming Sunday. We invited 35 kids. The RSVP reasponse date was Sunday 7/21st. I have yet to hear from 17 kids. I would normally just make extra goodie bags and let it go - if they show, great. BUT, I am paying extra to have a 30 minute lesson to start the party and the rink needs to know how many instructors I want. They suggest no more then 10 kids per teacher. Do I email, call or give it more time? Any advice?

I would start calling. I hate this part of the party planning, 17 outstanding

I agree, so sorry that you have that many people who have not rsvp'ed. DS birthday party is this weekend too and we only have one person who has not rsvp'ed. I am ok if they come and if they don't but it really bothers me because it is a good friend of mine and she is notorious for not rsvping to anyone.

I'd call. 17 is a lot...maybe something happened to the invites in the mail?
My son's bday is this weekend. I had 2 outstanding. 1 never got the invite in the mail (displaced due to Sandy and I had no clue - class mate of my son's and class list was never updated).

I would call, especially if the invitations were postcards. I sent out about 25 post card invitations to my son's party and by the rsvp date, only about 4 had been received. People told me months after the party that they finally received the invitation. I found out because I realized I forgot to put contact info on the invitations so emailed everyone with that info and most people replied that they had never received an invitation. I had handed them directly to the postal worker at the post office too.

Without a doubt email and/or call. I never let RSVPs go without following up.

I hope that you had a wonderful party. I did not call, but right after my post my friend emailed me her child was attending. We had a great party and I hope that you did as well.

thanks. I ended up emailing. 1 never got the invite. Most of the rest forgot or blamed DH! lol
In the end, 2 never responded. didn't matter - the party was a huge success anyway and my kids were happy.

I always call. I get so frustrated with this. It happens every year with DDs bday party. People are rude.
