Double Stroller Help

I am pregnant with twins and my DS will be turning 3 right after they are born. I obviously am in need of a double stroller and am on the fence on which one to go with. I really like the City Select Double Stroller, but feel like the "stadium" seating could get a little claustrophobic. If you have this one can you provide feedback or on any other ones?

Also, I am leaning more towards a "stadium seating" front to back type of stroller instead of side to side....Any preferences?

Re: Double Stroller Help

I just had twins and have a 2.5yo... We went with the City Mini. I got the glider board on the back for my older DS. The only thing I dislike about it is that I can't use it with 2 infant carrier car seats, you can only attach 1 adapter. I've just been using the double snap and go for now and my DS is either walking or in a single stroller that someone else pushes.

I'm looking for a double and LOVE the city select double, but not it's price tag. After more research, I think we'll be getting the Chicco Cortina Together Double . It's front & back, not side by side. It fits 2 infant seats if needed, and its 1/2 the price. I find searching YouTube to see how the strollers actually work is super helpful. I like the baby gizmo lady who reviews everything.

Thank you! That was super helpful! I just watched the videos. The Cortina looks great too.

Is the indie bumbleride a tandem or a side by side?

Its a sbs. We have the city mini. We tried the select with our twins but weren't fans. It seemed so cramped, one kid seemed like he would get the shaft. They love stretching out in the mini, the only thing is the basket is a bit hard to access and you can't hang a ton of stuff on the handlebars

Eta we also felt like the select was more appropriate for kids of different ages, not for twins but that's jmho

Double Stroller Help

I have the Citi Mini for my kids. They are 18 months apart. The car seat adapter isn't great, I feel like it isn't secure enough. It is fine for grocery shopping or the mall but I'm not comfortable using it on a bumpy sidewalk or street. I love the stroller itself though. It's so easy to open and close and it is pretty lightweight. We looked at the Select too but I felt that it wasn't as convenient as the Citi Mini. You have to take one seat off to close it and I thought that it would be a bit of a hassle.

Re: Double Stroller Help

Just for another perspective, I love my Graco Quattro Tour Duo. Fold to the same size as a regular full size stroller, and is not the side by side, so easier to maneuver in stores and doorways.

Re: Double Stroller Help

I love my bumbleride indie twin. I feel even for the hefty price tag, you get what you pay for. I need something with all terrain wheels that could be blown up & not just replaced. It handles well on any surface & even though its side by side, I've had no issues fitting through aisles or doors.

Does the indie bumbleride have adaptor bars for the Chicco Keyfit infant carrier? Also, can it hold two infant carriers since I'm having twins? Finally does it have a standing board for my 2 year old?

I would try the Together out in store first. It's really, really heavy, I think the heaviest out of all the doubles, and not easy to steer at all.

I just got the city select and I love it! I like all the options for the seat and I prefer it over the side by side seats. It rides really smooth and opens and closes very easily. Only annoying thing is that you have to take second seat off to close.

Thanks for the tip, I will definitely test it, but the review I watched by the baby gizmo lady said its about 30 lbs, which is average for a double front/back stroller, and I watched another woman put it in the trunk of her Accent with ease. They also gave it good ratings on manuerverability, can go over playground mulch, etc. We don't jog, just stroll! Chat Icon

ETA: The select is 36lbs and the Together is 35lbs according to Amazon product descriptions. The Bumble ride twin is 34lbs according to its website. I think all doubles are heavy.

Re: Double Stroller Help

we just registered for the citi mini double, DH has a bad back and if Im by myself we both wanted the lightest possible double with the easiest fold. The citi mini is only 26 pounds.
