cpse and the next step...
Ds will be 3 in oct. He is receiving EI at home and just had cpse eval. They will be recommending a school setting in a small class size due to his short attention span. We are awaiting speech/OT/PT evals but most likely will need these services. I know it is up to the city to decide what services we get. My question is, what are my options? This is very new to me. Will DS go to a preschool? Do we pay for this? Can we send him to a daycare? Any recommendations or advice would be appreciated.

if you live on LI, there are very few disrticts with Universal Pre-K, so you would be paying for that. However, if they are recommending a pre-school program, that would be paid for by the city or county depending on where you live. if he is going to a special ed. preschool, the services (or at least some of the sessions) would probably be provided at school. Depending on the recommendation, your DC could be in a special ed. class with like peers, or he could be in a class where there are typical children along with a few that receive services.
you could send him to a daycare if the program he qualifies for is not full-day. Also, often CPSE providers go to the daycare to provide services
