how do you help your baby if they have reflux? i know the internet is crazy and you can diagnose yourself or your baby with 239273547834 things but i know mine has silent reflux. i hear it and see it happen and EVERY possible symptom of it my baby has. I know this isnt the end of the world but it really does bother baby.
what can i do so the pain goes away?
i asked the ped. and was kind of brushed off like a crazy loon new mom which annoys me but thats another story

reflux - pls help
after trying a few different meds with little success, my ped had us add oatmeal cereal to dd's bottle. It helped her immensely.

Re: reflux - pls help
Smaller more frequent feedings
Keep baby upright for 30 min. afet feeding.
We let her sleep in the rock n play.
Under GI guidance, we added rice to bottle. This made the biggest difference. But we had to use earths best - some other brands had soy.

Re: reflux - pls help
Our son needed Zantac and prescription formula for his silent reflux. Make an appointment with a specialist (pediatriac GI) and get a diagnosis/treatment plan. It will get better! Hang in there, but get some help. They cry because they are in pain.

reflux - pls help
She was 10 weeks when we had to add oatmeal. I ebf/pumped for her first 6 weeks. At 4 weeks, she was diagnosed with a mill protein/soy protwin allergy. I removed all dairy/soy. Because of the drop in calories from eliminating those foods, my supply tanked. I started supplementing with Alimentum. Then had to thicken it up. Try reducing your dairy consumption. it may help her symptoms.

Re: reflux - pls help
I'd take your baby to a pediatric GI. We did that for DS. He was put on Zantac which has helped immensely. We also tried cereal in the bottle, but that didn't help as much as the Zantac.

Re: reflux - pls help
My pedi was the one who actually diagnosed the reflux. Had DS on Maalox at first. THen was given Zantac. Take the baby to a Pedi GI if your reg. pedi won't listen... There is so much to help them.. And don't add rice cereal to the bottle unless the dr tells you too.. Good luck...

reflux - pls help
Be pushy with your peds. My peds brushed me off initially when i said my dd had a milk protein allergy or intolerance. I didnt listen and changed her formula anyway and i had a brand new baby. My dd also had reflux. I suggest seeing a ped gi and ask about medication. We tried a few befoee having great results with zantac. Ive had 2 friends who kids were also in zanrac and had good results. Be the annoying pushy mother who cares. Your childs health comes first

Re: reflux - pls help
If your ped is brushing you off - go to a pediatric GI. DS was on Zantac and then Prevacid. We also added rice cereal to bottle before 3 months. It was rough. Try to keep upright as much as possible. I am sure your gut is right!

This was we did as well.
Also, smaller feelings more often. Burp after each ounce and sitting upright for a half hour after feeding.
Good luck and hang in there it's rough but it will pass.

Re: reflux - pls help
I would try to eat a low acid diet. When I ate food with sauce my DD would be screaming after the next feeding. Look up what foods are acidic and reduce them. Coffee, animal products, orange juice, etc. keep us posted.
