Would I know if something were wrong?
With my first pregnancy I had a doctor appointment right away but this time around I have to wait until 8 weeks (I got my bfp very early). I'm so excited to be pregnant again but I also am getting nervous that we'll find out there is something wrong at my first appointment after being so excited for four weeks already. I poas last night and it was still positive but if I were to have a chemical or an early mc would there definitely be bleeding and/or cramping or is it possible to not realize it when something goes wrong? I'm sorry, this sounds ridiculous even as I type it but it's been on my mind these last few days.

Re: Would I know if something were wrong?
You've been pregnant before so you know that for the next 40 weeks +/-, you're going to constantly be worried about your health and the health of your baby. Psh, what am I saying. You're going to be worried about your baby(ies) until the day you're not around anymore lol.
Is there a chance that something could be wrong during your 1st appt.? Yes. Is there a chance nothing could be wrong during your 1st appt.? Yes
I was sooo worried for the entire pregnancy until I could feel the baby move consistently. Even now at times, when he's asleep in there I get worried lol.
I just tell myself, is worrying going to make everything ok? No. Is worrying going to stop something bad from happening? No.
IF SOMETHING were to happen, you'll be more then capabale of handling it. Not everyone is the same so trying to look out for typical symptoms of things is just going to make you more worried.
Take it day by day and congrats on your bfp

It is easier said than done, but try not to stress out. Unless you have a history of early mc, don't panic. Continue with life. If you are extra concerned, request blood tests so that they can monitor your levels. This may give you some peace of mind. In the meantime, congrats and remember to breathe!

Re: Would I know if something were wrong?
I dont know why but I was so much more nervous this time than my first pregnancy. I think my first I didnt know much and ignorance is bliss.
That said, I think you would have symptoms if something were amiss- try and hang in there

It's so rough. I'm 10w5d. Haven't seen the baby since 7w1d. Not going again til my NT scan at 13w5d. It's not easy having to wait so long!

Re: Would I know if something were wrong?
I had the same thing on my mind. I had a loss last time at 6 weeks but I bled so knew something was up. This time I am at 11 weeks right now with no complaints. I try not to think about it because it takes some of the joy away.

Reality is a lot of OBs won't see you until you are 8 weeks. It sucks because you may constantly worry when everything is fine.
Try to think about the end result you holding your bundle!!

Re: Would I know if something were wrong?
Thanks for the reassurance. Usually I'm very level headed but my worrier of a dh has my mind running these days. Guess we just have to pray and wait.

Re: Would I know if something were wrong?
I feel the same in between apt, you likely would have signs if something was wrong, if really anxious you can tell Dr and see if they d see you sooner, mine would, not sure of all would though
congrats!
