Monster children vent!
My kids have driven me to my breaking point! I was just "that mom" at Costco today. My kids are beasts! DD (almost 6) doesn't listen. I let DS(3) walk, he and DD are playing hide and seek in the freezer aisle. I go to get DD and leave the baby in the cart. Then I grab DS who is hiding between a cement poll and the cement under the freezer and low and behold, his knee is stuck. I'm trying to get his knee loose and DD is screaming at the TOP if her lungs "you're hurting him, stop, stop!!!!" Everyone is staring. I get him free stick him in the cart. He's crying. Now the baby is poking him and he's screaming at her. Then we get to checkout and they're having a screaming contest. I seriously almost started crying.
This is the day after DS sprayed leave-in conditioner all over the walls upstairs. I thought they were playing nice in DDs room. Now I have grease stains all over my hallway!
Sorry just had to vent. It's been a rough couple of days. I'm grateful for happy healthy children, but sometimes.....ugh!

Re: Monster children vent!
Vent away! We have ALL been there and been that mom in public. My 2 year old was a monster at Target a few weeks ago. He no longer will sit in a shopping cart and would rather scream at the top of his lungs and run around. He can't sit still. I had to ditch the shopping cart that was full, grab him while he's smacking me and screaming and just get out of there. I now have to take him in the stroller and strapped in. Either that or wait for DH to come home or go on the weekend without kids. Not worth it!

Re: Monster children vent!
We have all been "that mom" before. I just cannot believe you can manage three kids in a Costco. In my book, you're a hero!!!

Re: Monster children vent!
I hear you my 4 year old who is usually good has taken to refusing to get dressed when we want to go out. Nothing like saying get dressed we want to go to the zoo (takes off the clothes you get on her)and yes we have cancelled activities but we can't sit home forever. Oh and she now thinks being silly and annoying are cute Need to get back on our schedule. Oh and mine always scream your hurting me even when you haven't touched them bc they know it gets attention.
Hang in there.

Re: Monster children vent!
Yes, you are not alone. There are always the good days, and then the VERY challenging days. Props to you, bringing all three to Costco. My kids are similar age with yours. I can only manage two at a time. ;)

Re: Monster children vent!
My DD went through a stage when I was 8-9 months pregnant where she would scream bloody murder when we were checking out cause she wanted the stuff to stay in the cart and not go on the check out counter. I think she thought the checkout person was going to steal it. Made for some super fun trips to target, the mall, etc.
