Lead follicle on day 4 of stims

So, after 4 nights of stims, I have 7 over 10mm and 6 under (8&9 mm)

I'm disappointed because we have such low fertilization rates and was hoping for more above 10.

But... My bigger issue is that one of my follicles is already 17... The others are way smaller

What happens now? Do you think my cycle will be cancelled?

Um, it's hard to say. I know with my recent cycle I had a lead at 14 and the rest were pretty small, but its growth slowed down as the others caught up; they will probably wait and see how things develop.

How did they downregulate (suppress/prime) you? Sometimes I think some grow and the others don't because the ones that stall aren't healthy in the first place, but I am a DOR girl, so that's my issue (not yours).

One thing though: as much as waiting SUCKS with a capital S, I'm a fan of starting fresh if the protocol or the particular month I did it are off because the heartache of a cycle that doesn't go well is so much worse than starting over.

BUT I think it's way too early to tell. I can remember having a lot of anxiety and tears after those early monitoring appts because what looks bad in the early days works itself out later. Example: I was unhinged at my baseline appt because they said I had 4 antral follicles, and in the end I got 10 eggs and 7 embryos.

I think what happens depends upon the call your RE makes. Some will let the large one go in order to let the smaller ones continue to develop. Having 6 follicles 8-9mm on day 4 is not a bad thing. Generally, they grow 2mm per day. You're only on day 4. If you stim for 10 days (most of us stim 10-14 days), the 8mm ones could essentially be at 20mm by day 10.

In my case, during my first cycle, I was cancelled due to lead follicles. However, I had 2 that were growing, while the others were 12mm on day 11. Totally different scenario, which accounts for being cancelled.

After only 4 days of stimming, I wouldn't jump to trying to predict what your RE will do. Focus on something enjoyable. Find something relaxing. I'm a firm believer in stress affecting cycles. Sending you tons of positive thoughts!

Thanks ladies. I was suppressed on bcp for 4 weeks.

Part of the reason I'm so upset is because this is our last vial of sperm. Our last good shot. I just needed this to go perfectly and I'm already feeling defeated on day 5!

But thank you - I will try to take a deep breathe and see how the next few days pan out.

I had one that was at least 10mm bigger then the others that were growing at a similar pace. They ignored that one and focused on the main 3. They did not cancel my cycle.
