first appointment / beta?
Sorry that this has probably been asked so many times, but the search feature isn't working!
I just got a BFP & the OB doesn't make appts before like 8 weeks. I remember going sooner at a different OB, more like 5 weeks. What's typical?
I guess I just want to know my numbers are good before getting excited! It's torture having to wait!

Re: first appointment / beta?
My OB wouldn't see me before 8 weeks and I never got a beta test. They just did a pee pregnancy test in the office and a sono and that was it. No beta numbers.

I went at 7w1d. They told me that they don't see anyone until 7-8 weeks.
I only had a beta b/c I went to the ER (unrelated to pregnancy). Otherwise I never would have had one. It threw me for a loop too b/c I had a very high beta for how far along I was so I thought I either had my dates wrong and I was further along or I had more than one. Nope - my dates were right and there was only one!

I am going to my first apt at 7w5d, this coming Thursday!!! (3 more days!!!!) The waiting is TORURE!!! I just want to see that everything is ok... Got my BFP Aug 27... I went in last week because I woke up with both of my hands completely numb, and I wasn't sleeping on them, two nights in a row! I was afraid something was wrong but apparently carpal tunnel is common.
I was sort of hoping they'd do a sono but they just did a urine test. That test said I was still pregnant... I had been really tempted to do another POAS test until then... I have had no bloodwork or anything.
