Daily stomach pain in 6 year old
I feel so bad and at a loss at what to do with my DD. At the beginning of this school year, she caught, what I thought was the stomach bug. Had to be admitted to the hospital to rule out appendicitis. Thank god it wasn't that, turns out it was strep. Since then, she has had daily stomach pains. It comes and goes, mostly in the morning and evening/night. She has finished up her round of antibiotics. Started on amox but the ped felt it wasn't enough and switched her to augmentum. She's been off of it for over a week now. However, the stomach pain is still there. At first I thought it was nerves with starting kindergarten b/c she would complain in the morning. But, it has impacted her during fun times during the day too. She said she likes school, so I'm not 100% sure it's that, although I'm not sure if she's telling the whole truth. She had to miss 2 days of school already. The dr sent her for bloodwork and urine analysis, which I will hopefully get today. No idea what it could be. We're going on 3 weeks now. Any DC's have similar issues?

Does it happen after doing certain things like eating? Although unlikely, some children do develop gallstones. If nothing comes up with your blood work and urine, you may want to see about doing an ultrasound to rule that out.

Daily stomach pain in 6 year old
I had daily stomach pains when I was young also....happened most mornings and even during "fun" activities. At the time they were very real to me and I would never have said it was due to nerves but lookign abck now I can def say it was nervous stomach.

Can you try getting her tested for celiac? My neighbors son had similar pain for a year and they finally discovered he had celiac.
Or lactose intotolerance?

Blood work all came back normal. She dd have an ultrasound and it showed no gallstones. Ped wants me to try starting a gluten free diet first for two weeks and then try to take out dairy. She said that her belly was fine in school today. Thank you for your responses

I was gonna suggest gluten and dairy free diet as well. Give it at least a month or two. Good luck!

If she has been and is on all these antibiotics it could just be that they have been really hard on her stomach. I get terrible stomach pains when on antibiotics. They are really harsh on your stomach lining and some people are more sensitive to the that.

Did she take florastor with the meds? They can give you stomach problems for weeks. Try a probiotic..but it never hurts to cut gluten or dairy.
