Another religion class question

Did you homeschool the first year? I am paying over $150 and was told I will need to teach DC myself. Is homeschooling the first year the norm? The 2nd year will be done at church and is same price(for now at least).

Yes, we were at home for the first year. I have to say, it was the first time I had ever heard of home school religion for the first year. Although, I did speak to my boss and her church did the same thing.

We didn't. My DD was in a class at the church, but I believe it was an option if you wanted to.

Just a question. You have to pay $150 and teach her yourself?

Mine have been in church every year. Home school religion was not an option.

Is the fee a yearly fee, or a one time thing?

Re: Another religion class question

Yes - our parish in 1st grade you teach at home.

In 2nd they have classes at the church and they make their communion in the spring.

We paid $80.

No. My DD has been going since K, and it has always been in a regular class.

Re: Another religion class question

Our church just started this, homeschooling for K, regular classes start in 1st. It is optional I think, I wonder if you can just buy the text somewhere else.
ETA: Our home study is only $35.

Re: Another religion class question

We pay about the same thing but, homeschooling is not an option as far as I know. The classes are taken once a week at our parish's elementary school and are taught by parent volunteers.

This is what I was told as well. 1st year at home, year of communion, in church.

Same for us. I don't think homeschooling was even offered.
