Crashing: Hoping someone can help me.
First, sorry to crash your board! I tired posting this on other boards and haven't really gotten much of a response.
I need some help regarding Provera. I lost my daughter at 20 weeks in July. I delivered her vaginally. A little over 6 weeks later AF showed up that was in mid August. No AF since.
I went to the dr yesterday and met with his PA she wants me to take Provera to induce AF. I feel like she was very quick to just prescribe a medication without trying to figure out the problem. It's completely possible i'm overreacting. Has anyone had an experience with Provera? has it helped bring on AF? did AF regulate after taking it? and has anyone been able to conceive after taking Provera?
I appreciate any help or guidance you girls can give me! thanks!!

Re: Crashing: Hoping someone can help me.
Hi, I am very sorry about your loss. I also had to take provera to bring on AF, this was before I ttc DS. My problem was that I was in birth control for so long it messed up my hormones and when I went off I had no AF, for months, finally went to a dr and had my hormones tested, it turned out I was not making enough estrogen so I was put on estrogen then provera to bring on AF. I had to see an RE anyway to conceive DS though. If I were you if ask your ob/gyn to run a blood test on your hormones to see what is going on. Best of luck!

Thank you. I should've mentioned they sent me for bloodwork. I'm waiting on the results before I can start taking the provera but I have a script waiting to be filled.

I have PCOS, and before TTC, my OBGYN would give it to me to induce AF when I was going longer than 60 days without one. Once I started TTC I didn't need it because the meds I was on were making me O, which I had never experienced before. I'm not sure if it regulates you, but it does bring it on about 5 days after taking it. So sorry on your loss :( :(

I'm so sorry for your loss
I have pcos as well and always take Provera every 3 months to induce AF. It's 1 pill a day for 10 days, and AF usually starts within a week.

Thank you! I feel a little better now. I'm sure it will help when I get my blood results too.
