Re: FLEAS!!!!
i know you said no chemicals but have you tried frontline? Fleas are pretty much impossible to get rid of without something on your pet, like frontline.

FLEAS!!!!
my Dog had them. We had to treat him. To get them out of the house we just vacuumed....we had to do it 3x a day and empty the canister outside in a sealed bag.
It takes time to break the cycle

Same with our cats. How 2 indoor only cats got fleas is beyond me. We never had to spray the house, but we had to do 3 cycles of Frontline on each cat. Once the ones that are living in your house don't have a host to live on anymore, they will die off. Also, vacuum often and cut up a flea collar and put it in your vacuum canister or bag. Helps to kill the ones in the vacuum.

Re: FLEAS!!!!
The frontline could take a few cycles to work. Keep up what you are doing.

Yes, it took us about 3 cycles to see all the fleas gone. We would comb them with a fine tooth comb and as soon as we pulled the comb out and saw fleas, we would stick it in a plastic cup of rubbing alcohol to kill the fleas on the spot. That helped somewhat as well.

FLEAS!!!!
Bring the animals to the vet. They will give you a pill. It kills the fleas within 24hrs. Then stay on top of the frontline. Wash sheets, blankets, Vacuum. Cease on the baths at least for now. Could dry out the animals skin. We had a nasty flea issue 2 summers ago and tried everything. Got the pill from the vet and it cleared everything up. Haven't had a problem since then. In the last 7yrs we've had 2 flare ups and only the pill helped. I don't know what the pill is called.

Capstar. We have 2 dogs that go out a lot. So we usually do a combo of Capstar and Advantix.

Yup, I agree. Our dogs got fleas for the first time exactly one year ago. During Sandy. When we had no power for 2 weeks.
I threw out their beds (it was time anyway) and didn't introduce new ones until I was sure the fleas were gone. Vacuumed, hands and knees under all furniture, twice a day for weeks. I read that spreading salt around will kill them and the eggs but my dogs would probably lick the carpeting for months after if I did that so I didn't.
We did use Capstar during this time twice but everything I read said that the biggest concentration of fleas is never on the animal, it's under the couch and in the curtains and in the beds.
Good luck, I know how bad it is!
